I purchased a vehicle with a car lot in Salem OR. Part of the car deal I made was to have the windows tinted. The windows were supposed to be tinted very dark. The tint turned out wrong the 1st time due to an employee at the lot making a decision to change it. It became an issue of having it re-tinted. I live in Beaverton OR, and the tint guy lives in Albany OR. To have to redo it was a hassle. I did not want to have to drive down to Salem again to have it done correctly. The manager at the lot gave me the authority to choose a different tint company near my residence and he would continue to pay for it as per our car deal. I did find a new tint guy. I had an appointment set up. I informed the manager at the lot of the tint price, and the date. He said thank you for letting me know. About a week later I received a message from ****** the original tinter asking me when he can pick my car up.I was confused and asked him if he spoke to the manager about this, and then also contacted the manager to ask why he was trying to pick up my car. They both practically begged me to let him do it. On that note I also wanted my 2nd car tinted. I told ****** if he wanted to come to my house I would give him a 2nd job that I would be paying for to tint. He would then tint 2 cars at my house at the same time. The visit became personal and his fiancé and best friend came up due to possibly adopting my dog. I bought them all lunch. I also gave ****** $700 in cash. The only thing I was supposed to pay for was my 2nd cars tint. ****** quoted me at $600. I gave him an extra $100 as a tip on top of the hundred dollars I spent on the four of us eating lunch. He cut some tint for the car and left early. The car was supposed to be tinted the next day. It did not get done. He text me late saying he couldn’t make it. His personal life really got in the way. He kept my money. He also thought he could give me $200 back to make up for it. I expect my $600 back for the job that he didn’t even do!!!

Due to the family emergency I had to reschedule the appointment and the customer understood and agreed to the time I could reschedule. After about 30 mins or so I got a text saying that they don't want me back to finish the appointment. I was confused on the reason why and dealt with the dealership that we went thru to get the jobs done. I gave $350 back to the dealership to give the customer due to me not wanting to escelate the situation. I only gave a 50% refund due to labor, fuel, and materials used. I have all the texts between the customer and I. The personal matter with the animal should not have been brought up to the dealership because of it being a personal situation.

      Customer response

I just filed against this company. I.D. #********. This was closed without my my response. It had only been a week! I restarted Medical school last week and just did not have a chance to respond. I’m shocked BBB just closed it so fast, but I am here to reissue it and have it resolved immediately. The dog was brought up because that is where ******** time to achieve his job became an issue. ****** having his girlfriend come up for the dog and waste both our time, and therefore NOT do the job is why the dog is a key factor in this complaint. I reached out to ****** on this Sunday and informed him I was going to reissue the complaint w/BBB. He has not responded. He DID “NOT” do the job! I want my $600 back. He can keep the $100 tip. He has already been paid for my new car that he was at my residence tinting that day as well. He was suppose to do them both that day. He ripped tint off my two front windows and left tint sheets in my car with all my door panels ripped off the top. If I drove it and got in an accident all of my airbags would have been compromised! I have already paid another company to fix the tint he ripped off, put the new tint on that ****** was supposed to do, and also put all my door panels back together. That cost me $500 on top off the $600 ****** has just stolen from me. This kid is in the wrong and has no right to keep that payment. I should have never gave it to him before he had the job done. I trusted him though!! So I thought?!! I want my $600 back immediately. He has no right to keep somebody’s money for a promised job not done. It’s shameful that he thinks he should be allowed to due to how he left my car in an unsafe compromised state which I also had to drive myself to get to the new tint guy and pay a second time for one job. In the message I left on ******** phone on Sunday I let him also know that I would give him one more opportunity to give me my money back. I also said if he continues to keep it I will be suing him. Let’s fix this
