1) Do NOT leave anything of value in or on your vehicle. Including gas tanks tailgates mirrors running boards. I rec'd a call from a Vision Diesel mechanic stating my truck was leaking fuel. Not that I was out of gas but there is a leak an fuel is on the ground. Someone drilled a hole in my tank and stoled my full tank of fuel. I claimed it on my insurance w a $500 deductible. A couple weeks later I picked up my truck an the tailgate was stolen as well. I was told by ****** @ Vision Diesel that they will make it right. So I sent proof that my truck had the tailgate on it when AAA dropped it off w multiple pics. ****** Co owner basically told me to f off. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. These parts are bolted /attached to my truck. It wasn't a laptop that I left in it. Beware theft will likely happen due to my experience.2) ****** quoted me $15000 for for a 6.7L long block rebuild. I ended up paying $23000 plus $3000 that I had to pay for the engine core charge, That I only recd $2000 for. Plus $500 for fuel tank an additional $500 for the tailgate.3) I had to return my brand new rebuilt due to oil leaking. Found out it was the main oil seal. Truck was put back in the Vision Diesel Shop for 6 additional days on top of the 3 months it sat in Vision Diesel unsecure lot.Business response

Provided below are a few facts regrading the mentioned appointment and how it was handled. There seems to be some extreme confusion and multiple errors in the complaint filed against us.
1. This vehicle was dropped off September 09/08/2021 for an appointment that was not scheduled until 11/10/2021. Bringing and leaving a vehicle in a public parking lot for over 2 months waiting for an appointment is ALWAYS advised against. No one can guarantee a vehicle is going to be protected in a PUBLIC parking lot for 2 full months. It was also left in that location by a tow truck drive that failed to lock the vehicle, luckily no one ever got inside it as this was caught shortly after. We clearly state multiple places in our showroom that we CANNOT be responsible for anything left in a vehicle or damage that occurs in our public parking lot. We do take every precaution available (including a locked fence) to protect the vehicles but it is always recommended for the vehicle to be dropped off and picked back up as close to the start and finish dates as possible. Please keep in mind that no one would complain to ********** or ******* if something went missing from their vehicle while parked at the store.
2. The customer was quoted $18,481.14 to do the work he requested. We had not diagnosed the vehicle or seen the vehicle when this quote was sent. Customer had requested that we quote him for a long block replacement. This price included the $3000 core charge and was very clearly going to be owed upon completion. Upon receiving the vehicle and beginning to work on it it was very clear that additional items were going to be necessary to replace in order to do the job correctly. These items were suggested to the customer again via email and the customer choose which items he would like to do and others that he wanted to skip or wait on. It was well documented why these items were needed and both parties agreed they were necessary. The $3000 core charge is normally refunded after inspection of the core by the engine manufacturer, in this case a bad crankshaft was found and $1000 was deducted by the manufacturer because of the faulty crankshaft. The remainder was refunded to customer immediately.
******* was an oil leak shortly after installation and it was found that the original rear main seal installed by the engine manufacturer had failed. It was promptly brought into the shop and repaired free of charge under warranty. As quickly as we could get approval from the manufacturer of the engine and get parts it was fixed. There was no delay of any kind, all warranties are handled promptly.
4. Lastly and potentially most importantly, we NEVER told the customer to "F off". We record all phone calls and emails and have everything listed here very clearly documented. The conversion took place very calmly that we would not be responsible for items that went missing during the 2 month period of a vehicle being parked in the public parking lot near our shop. However we were very rudely responded to during this and ultimately hung up on by the customer.
We do not feel we have any responsibility for a vehicle sitting in our parking lot that was dropped off 2 months prior to appointment date. That was done at the customer discretion. The work done to the vehicle was done with extremely professionalism and the vehicle runs excellent. All communication was done professionally as well and the customers vehicle has been repaired to extremely high standards and all issues that were supposed to be fixed were fixed.
Thank you!

Where do I start?
First I never showed up to VD before I picked up my truck. So I never saw any signs stating not to leave my tailgate attached to my truck. Or remove my fuel tank so no one can drill a hole in my tank to steal my fuel.
Second if you know theft is an issue at your shop why wouldn't you check doors and tailgate to make sure they are secured. My truck sat in your Private parking lot for 3 months. And no one checked to verify it was locked or even knew that it was stolen. Had I known that your secured parking lot was a joke I would of never had it parked in your PRIVATE lot. The only reason it was brought to your PRIVATE lot was because the engine was blown and not able to drive it there closer to the time scheduled.
And never was I told there was a good chance that parts would be stolen nor did I sign anything stating your shop has such a high possiblity of theft.
Third The difference between a public and private parking lot? Public anyone has access to it. It's NOT a public parking. It's supposedly locked an fenced meaning PRIVATE not anyone can park in it. You state "we can not be responsible for any THING LEFT in your vehicle" I didn't leave my tailgate in my vehicle it's was bolted to my truck. I didn't leave my fuel tank in my truck it was bolted to my truck. You also state "you take evey precaution available" except the simplest, check to make sure doors, tailgate, tool boxes are LOCKED!
I like how you didn't reply any remarks about ****** stating"VD will make it right" for my tailgate being stolen. I sent proof my truck was delivered to VD w my tailgate attached. And ****** said he would not do anything or pretty much to f off.
