When I talked to the owner, I asked if he needed to see my stuff for my move. He said there was no need and the estimate was based on the distance between the origin and the destination and the labor time. After I submitted my inventory, he gave me a moving estimate of $3,510 based on an estimated job time of 9h 30mins. The job started at 9:11 am and ended at 3:37 pm. The job time was only 6 hours and 26 minutes, which already included the movers lunchtime and the time they hang out waiting for my apartment manager to open the door. The exact work time was only 5 hours and 5 minutes (0.5 hour for loading, 0.5 hour for unloading, and 4 hour 5mins for travel). I dont mind paying 6 hours and 26 minutes but the company charged me $3,510.00 which was based on an estimated job time of 9h 30mins and materials. I packed all my stuff. They did not use any materials, not even plastic wraps for my futon sofa. As a result, the move caused significant scratches to my futon sofa and left stains on my comforter storage bag. I contacted the company by email and telephone call regarding the damage to my futon sofa. But they did not answer or reply.
