On 2/19/24 *********************** messaged me offering to build a dresser for me. Being a licensed and bonded contractor he assured me he can build it. He showed up late 2/25/24 in a broken down car with a friend. Both looking unprofessional in appearance and showing up with no tools. the kit came with tools and I also offered mine but he insisted he left for the store and had not returned for 2 hours after I texted him. He took the dresser home and said he would bring it back in a few hours. Over the course of 3 days, he lied to me several times, even stating his uncle died but he built the dresser, then he didn't build it and didn't have instructions (Which I saw myself), then he was missing parts and had to fabricate parts. On 2/27/24 when the dresser was returned and paid for, I moved it to fit in the location it needed to be in, and it fell apart. After falling apart, I could see the damage that was done, a lot of glue trying to hold the pieces together and the wood was messed up with missing screws. He carried it in with ceran wrap that I now realize was to hold it together until here because it wasn't stable enough to support itself. I asked for him to fix it, which at first said yes then wanted to charge me. I decided I was too uncomfortable to have him back and requested a refund. We asked him several times to just bring back the dresser and he refused until he completed it. I would like a refund of the labor, I also need to replace the $400 dresser that was damaged by his actions.

I was contacted by ***************** regarding the dresser/vanity and offered to put it together for her as she is a single mother and I can relate to how hard that can be. I asked the customer if she would be ok with me assembling the dresser/vanity in my shop where I would have room to lay out all the pieces. She told me that would be fine as long as I do not get the dresser/vanity dirty because it is white. I picked up the product at the end of my work day and yes I am a contractor so I get pretty dirty on the job. Not sure why what my clothing looked like and the condition of my employees car has anything to do with this other than the customer trying to be vindictive. The reason it took extra time was because the customer bought a cheap product with no assembly instructions. So I had to build this thing using trial and error. Once it was built we wrapped each piece in professional grade ceran wrap as dresser drawers tend to fall out during travel. We also did this because it was white and we didn't want it to get dirty during travel. Once back at the customers house we unwrapped the dresser/vanity and assembled it in an L-shape in the corner of the room as requested by the customer. Once everything was assembled the customer came in and Inspected our work before paying us for the job. After we left she decided that she wanted to move the dresser/vanity somewhere else. It took two adult males to bring the pieces into the house so the only way the customer could have possibly moved it is by dragging it across the carpet and in doing so she pulled out the dowels and screws holding it together. Even know this was the customers fault and it happened after the job was done. I still offered to fix it free of charge out of good faith. The customer refused my help and choose to Instead go on a slander campaign that is not the truth. I have a witness that can attest to the customers satisfaction as well as pictures of the work we did.

I am rejecting this response because: ******* response is false in many ways and have included screenshots of some messages with *****. He stated he came at the end of his workday, when he scheduled me for 10am and showed up at 11am on a Sunday. He also said he was with an employee, but told me he was a friend who was giving him a ride. He was not an employee nor professional. I also attached a picture of the owners manual that he took with him and returned with. Several other things are not true and I have much more evidence to prove so. You can see in the original pictures all the damage and glue, you can also see in his text message he admitted to doing this. I felt very unsafe with their behavior and looks, so when he offered to take it to the "shop" I agreed. I did not realize that was a dirty home garage. I also have pictures that ***** provided, that also shows the damage. And multiple other customers who have had negative experiences have also provided me testimonials if requested.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

In regards to this issue there will be no refund issued as the customer tried moving the dresser/vanity without properly disassembling the vanity from the dresser. As you can see from the provided pictures everything was properly assembled, protected, and placed where the customer asked me to put it! If you compare the pictures of how the vanity/dresser was installed compared to the pictures the customer provided after the fact it is obvious she tried to move it without properly taking it apart first. This is not our fault as the dresser/vanity was placed where the customer asked me to put it before she inspected the work in front of myself and my employee. Once satisfied with our work she paid me via Venmo. Even know the customer damaged the product after the fact I still offered to resolve this issue by fixing it free of charge. The customer refused to allow us to fix the damage she caused. We will not be issuing a refund as the customer provided me with a product that had no assembly directions. Due to that it took multiple hours trying to figure out the proper way to assemble the product (which we did). I only charged the customer $100 as a favor as I can relate to being a single parent but at this point I have already lost money trying to help this customer and I am not willing to lose more due to her mistake. I have a witness who can attest to the facts I have stated if needed.

      Complaint: 21361325

I am rejecting this response because: This man is still not telling the truth. I have attached the same picture as him to explain my reasoning for moving it, which ***** himself is the one who pointed out that the second power cord wouldn't reach the other outlet. There was only a small section between the vanity and the bed for my daughter to walk. And this picture doesn't show the part of the dresser you didn't assemble correctly. I also attached another picture ***** provided that shows more proof the installation wasn't done right. If you look closely the left side of the dressers drawers are crooked. The tracks were crooked and the drawers are protruding on one side and pushed in on the other. That's the same side that fell apart instantly when I moved it and has the glue all over and visual damage. I also attached a screenshot showing he doesn't carry ********* comp which is required in ****** with employees, so either he is continuing to lie or he is breaking the law further. These were two very large men in my home, and as you see in the picture, his friend is wearing face paint and tons of fur and definitely intimidating. Of course as a woman alone in the house at 5'1 125, I'm not going to be rude or not pay you and risk things escalating. I regret not reaching out to the community to ask first about this man. I just caution other people do not do business with him until he cleans up and changes how he's operating. If he makes mistakes, he will cover it up. And then when something happens, it's the customers fault. Again, after multiple clear lies being told to me and the look of the people you brought to my home, I did not want you back to make things worse. The customer is always right, especially with evidence.

      Sincerely,
