Eager Beaver Nursery work product on my park strip in front of my house was poorly done. *** had to replace several plants they put in and instead of ripping out the old grass they just killed it with a grass killer product. The small plants(succulents) have struggled from day one as they cant develop roots to survive through the old grass roots underneath. ****, the owner, has come out twice with a poor attitude and negative attitude as though could care less. He said just wait until the Spring they will take off. Well, the Spring is here and they look horrible and more are dying. ****, was paid $1800.00 to do the job right and he failed and his half hearted $75 toward dead plants is ridiculous and unprofessional.Business response

Mr. ********************* hired Eager Beaver Nursery, **** to install succulent plantings in a park strip. Succulents are plants with fleshy, thick tissues especially adapted to water storage.
Both parties agreed to use his neighbors park strip planting as an example, since it was an attractively planted area. We explicitly alerted **************** that we would NOT be removing the existing sod in the parking strip, due to the damage it would cause to the existing street trees.
Of note: the neighbors example planted area was several years old and well-established at this time.
APRIL 2023:
****************** succulent planting was done in April 2023.
JUNE 2023:
Two months later, in June 2023, **************** called and said the plantings werent growing and he wanted something done to rectify the situation. At this same time, his wife, ********, ripped a plant out of the ground and tossed it away. EBN responded to ****************** call with an eyes-on visit to the parking strip. The succulents were, indeed, slow-growing, but they had rooted and would continue to grow with time. The nature of succulents is slow growththey do not flourish as other plants do. They hold water in their tissues. Furthermore, no plants were dead. Our office expressed to **************** that the parking strip succulents should be left alone over the summer to continue deeper root growth and establishment. We further indicated that if the succulents did not show growth by Fall, we would replace them under warranty.
SEPT 2023:
**************** called and said he would wait no longer and had made the decision himself to purchase and replace some of the parking strip succulents. EBN responded by an eyes-on visit to the parking strip. **************** requested full reimbursement. Upon asking for a receipt of expenditure to supply our bookkeeper, **************** stated he had no receipt. **************** indicated he had spent approximately $50 and wished a reimbursement in that amount. A check was issued to **************** and mailed to him.
APRIL 2024:
Seven months later, in April 2024, **************** called and stated he deserved another reimbursement for yet more succulents he had determined himself to replace. Upon asking for a receipt of expenditure to supply our bookkeeper, **************** again stated he had no receipt. **************** further indicated he had spent approximately $25 and wished a reimbursement in that amount. A check was issued to **************** and mailed to him. Yet again EBN responded to ****************** complaint by making an eyes-on visit to the parking strip.
SUMMARY:
We have responded appropriately and reimbursed **************** for all plants he decided to replace. As far as we are concerned, **************** has been made whole.
