Today we called ahead to reserve a table at the Horn public house in *************** ******. We had reserved a table the upstairs dining area with an ocean view. They said no problem, but when we arrived the host (male) asked if the dog was a service dog and what service he provided. We answered and then the General manager asked again what service the dog provided and we answered. She then said, in front of all of the other patrons, that they will not allow service animals upstairs at all. She treated us as if we were lying about the service dog and acted sceptical as to weather or not my sister even had a disability/disorder. She said we could still eat at the restaurant but not upstairs like we had reserved and gave us no explanation as to why. The kitchen is downstairs. We called to ask for the owner, but the general Maneger (her name is ******) would not give any information or transfer me to the owner. She also argued that what she had done was completely appropriate even after I pointed out that the restaurants policy is against ***************. I had no problem with her asking what service the dog provided, I had a problem with being restricted to a bad area of the restaurant for no reason. On top of that, she treated us rudely, it was embarrassing, inappropriate and illegal. We ended up not eating there because of how uncomfortable she made us feel and we were not able to resolve anything with the owner as we were not given any way to contact them.
