July 10, 2023 I went to Oregon Medical group (OMG) and saw *************. My appointment was for an inital visit. My spouse *********************** had an appt for an inital visit July 12,2023. I made both appointments. I received a bill for $403.00 from OMG, for Annual wellness appointment. ******** denied payment.****** visit was coded as initial visit and was paid by ********. I disputed the billing from OMG as a coding error. I contacted OMG repeatedly about this error. They continuously sent me notices threatening me with collections. Until today (4/12/23) no one from OMG reached out to me for possible resolution. Today, I received a call from OMG. I was told that initial visit means ************** I asked how I would know that since I wasnt an OMG employee. I used the word initial as being first. Lastly, ****************** visit as listed as initial visit as was paid by ********. This was OMGs error and their assumption as to what initial means and their error as to was to provide and code visit as. If they has asked about my last wellness care I would have told them. They asked a zillion other questions but not that one. Their errortheir bill. I can prove everything *** said through their records.Business response

The patient contacted OMG Medical Group, discussed a legal name change, and presented legal ID for their records. They explained they needed their prescription updated to match their current government-issued ID and a simple document describing the medication for purposes of upcoming international travel. Two days later, they realized a follow-up was needed with OMG Chase Medical Center, who hadn't followed up with them, and on the same day they extensively explained the situation to a telephone agent at the clinic. The next day, despite receiving a letter from a medical clinic, it did not meet Japanese requirements, prompting the individual to leave a detailed follow-up message describing revisions needed. Six and seven days after the initial request, concerned about no updates, the individual called OMG ************ Clinic and the prescribing physician respectively. On the eighth day, they called OMG Chase Medical Center and finally discovered that the doctor was simply refusing to update their legal name on the prescription that was still valid for another six months and paid in full. They would only update the name and release the life, held hostage to their demands, in exchange for a medical visit despite the fact that no such visits could be scheduled in the next four weeks and despite the fact that the existing the prescription was valid and fillable for another six months. The legal name needed updating on the existing prescription for international travel purposes. Because prescription was refillable for another six moths, it seemed incredible that there could there be a valid medical need to interrupt the prescription for purposes of a legal name change with some additional medical visits or procedures. It was completely unexpected and threw delicate plans underway into increasingly expensive disarray and needless uncertainty as margins eroded and deadlines loomed. Expected to fly Feb 15th, can't book without docs. $$$ pricey.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
your corporate customer service is dysfunctional, failed to deliver assistance with a reasonable and legal request. The request was simple. I had a legal name changed, by judgement and authority of the *************************, but Oregon Medical Group refused to comply with the implications of legal name change and update the name on an existing prescription such that it was consistent with government-issued identification. There is no force on this world that can compel me to any name that isn't mine, least of all Doctor ******* I absolutely cannot comprehend how he could be as culturally insensitive as this, much less impose actual hardship and loss upon his transgender patients. There was no medical basis for his refusal to cooperate with the court judgement, and indeed after a hyper-stressful process of petitioning other state-licensed doctors to assist, another organization did intervened on my behalf in order to help ensure that I could obtain my necessary travel papers despite being transgender. With their compassionate help and the supporting documentation they provided for my ongoing hormone replacement therapy, I was finally able to apply for the required paperwork to bring the medication along, and now Japanese officials have issued the *************-sho for my three-month stay, thank the gods. As far as I'm concerned, Oregon Medical Group cannot be entrusted to be responsive, agile, open, or compassionate enough to service the needs or expectations of their internationally-active patients.
Sincerely,
Zephyr Iris StellumoInitial Complaint

On October 6th 2021 and on October 20th 2021. I had pap smears performed at OMG on Quest Drive and OMG on Crescent. This is a "wellness preventative appointment". My insurance was charged an "office visit" and the claim was denied. I have asked that the claim be refiled as a pap smear so that benefits will be provided. My co worker had the same appointment at the same clinic and she was also charged for an "office visit". After one phone call OMG changed her visit to a New patient wellness visit and the appointment was paid for. Charging insurance for a generic office visit is unfair predatory billing practices. Especially when one patient is treated different than another. I have requested a code change back in April and no steps have been taken to rectify this situationBusiness response

The patient was not seen on Oct 06, 2021 and Oct 20, 2021, however she was seen on those two dates in 2022. The appointments were not scheduled as preventive services. These two dates of services were scheduled as problem focused appointments in which the provider assessed the medical condition. Documentation does not support a change to preventive services per Coding Review. I received a notification saying that I talked with a doctor at Oregon medical group on 4/17/2023 about high blood pressure. I did not have an appointment and did not call or make a visit. Why does it say it has record of me being there?Seems super suspicious to me, I truly hope I wasn't billed for a visit that never happened. This isnt the first issue with false billing that Ive had with themBusiness response

I recently was referred to *************** at Gateway Clinic with *****************************. I had to wait nearly 7 months for an appointment. Ok, so I waited no problem. Yesterday (2days before my appointment) I was told there was a staffing shortage and they had to cancel my appointment. And the soonest they could get me in was in JULY. This is totally unacceptable. I waited 7 months for this appointment!!! I am furious and this is how they handle a referral? What kind of business does this? Im still in tears about being treated so badly.Business response

On January 27, 2022, my husband, ***************************** had a doctor's visit at OMG. We paid our co-pay of $15.00 and he had his exam. On February 14,2022, we were billed for his visit in the amount of $74.24, showing a $15.00 adjustment in the price from $89.24 to $74.24. I paid the **** in full on February 24, 2022. On March 17, 2022, I was billed for $15.00. I called and asked why, they said it was the co-pay. I told them we paid the co-pay. They said they would check on it. They told they had no record of it and to send my copies to "revenue cycle management @ oregon med.net", I did. I have been billed again for the co-pay and now they are about to send me to collections for it. I have sent a check off to them today to prevent this and have also included my copies of receipts showing I have paid this ****. It is only $15.00, but I have already paid this, why do I have to pay again, when it is their error?! Can you please help me?Business response

They have problems with their billing system and will send you to collections because of it. I had called them multiple times to set up payments and to call and check in to see if I had any outstanding payments. I have asked to pay my total balance I. Office and over the phone many times. Despite this they sent me to collections in 2019 for a balance I believed to be taken care of. Two years later I find out that some how after all my request to pay a balance in full I have a account in collections office..Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I have already tried to talk to Oregon medical group about these issues multiple times and in regards to many different instances this had happened only for them to ignore or dismiss the issues. They have shown they dont care to fix the on going problems they have. Even when I ask questions on how this could get missed over and over again they dont answer they ignore and give the same response one that has nothing to do with my questions.
Sincerely,
