            File under heading > credit card misuse. Today, visited dealership for routine oil change. Upon returning home received notification for my Apple Card re. recent transaction at Kendall Subaru. Issue: I did not use/hand to desk agent my Apple card! They had saved my card information without my permission during my last interaction in the service department. Desk agent simply chose the card that Kendall had saved without consent from me. The general manager and an agent in service purged their system of my card information upon my request. Thank you. General notification re. this business that the agents in service are very likely clicking the option to save your cc information automatically without asking. The general manager appeared to be surprised that they were doing this, and I have no reason to not believe him. Buyer beware of brick and mortar stores who *may* be doing this without your knowledge. Thanks.

            Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We have reviewed the practice of allowing service advisors to store credit card information in a customer profile. Our review confirmed that stored credit card information is encrypted which prevents use of the card for unintended purposes. Our system will only permit the use of stored credit card information for a future repair order in the customers name. Credit card information should not have been stored other than at the customers request and with their consent. We have confirmed that the reviewers stored credit card information has been removed from our system.

            After an internal discussion, we have decided that we will no longer offer service customers the option of storing credit card information in our system. We have eliminated the ability of a service advisor to save credit card information even if requested to do so by a service customer.
