I contacted Bush animal hospital during the last week of January 2022 to make an appointment for my dog for a Travel Health Certificate that is required by the airlines. The appointment was set about six weeks out on march 8th at 8:50am. I was quoted $85 for the certificate. This was a bit higher then what my Alaska Vet charged me in November to travel south. Her charge was $60 but it was close so I didnt worry about it. After the appointment at Bush Animal Hospital the girl at the front desk said the charge was $***.34. I questioned it and she went into the back room and came back and said the $***.34 was correct. I could have refused to pay but we had a plane to catch at 5;30pm that day and I didnt want to risk somehow having the travel certificate revoked. There is a shortage of vets now and you cant make non emergency appointments without waiting 4-5 weeks. I didnt want to miss my flight, so I decided to deal with it after I travelled. I called Bush Animal Hospital and said I was inquiring about the charges, ***** put me on the phone with one of the doctors. I explained the situation, and even told him that my vet only charged $60 and the vet near ****, Willakenzie Animal Hospital, had just informed me they charge $34.50. #***.34 was excessive and it was not what I was quoted. The doctor told me that their prices have taken a long time to evolve to where they are and if I didnt like them then I was free to bring my dog to the other vet. WOW. I ended the conversation without telling him what I thought of that reply. So I was grossly overcharged with no way to remedy without sitting in ****** ****** for 5 weeks waiting for another vet appointment and risking having law enforcement called on me for refusing to pay.
