To whom it may concern. On meeting with Park Place Bookkeeping and Taxes on the 23rd of March, there was no fee schedule provided and I was not advised on what I would be charged. I was told it would be an extension and would know about a possible return at the end of April, however, it wasn't until June 6th that I was called and told that it was done, I was told that I broke even and would be charged $420.Very general language when we met in March and was told it wasn't going to be a lot. No Itemization or indication of what would be charged for services at the time of the meeting. Never received a utilized statement. It was a simple return. It was not an expedited return. Will I be receiving an itemized bill?I was told by Park Place's secretary on June 7th that because I sent around 15 emails, ( with receipts/ documentation per Park Place's request) the time it took to copy those emails, PLUS overhead for employees, is why it will cost this amount. And that it was discounted from $600. $420 may not be a lot for Park Place, but it is a lot for me. Seems excessive for the simplicity of the return.

To Whom It May ****************** new client came in to my office for an extended meeting lasting an hour an a half on March 23, 2023. She was told that she would go on extension and if she owed anything, we would let her know by April 15th. She started a new business in 2022 and sent receipts for different events, flights, food, and such, one at a time, over the span of 2 weeks in 15 different emails. There were phone calls, sorting and totaling of supplies, before we could enter the information on the tax return. This was not a simple basic tax return. Her 2021 return with only a W-2 on it was a simple tax return. She didn't ask how much to might be. If I give a quote, I hold to it. She had expressed having difficult times. I billed the return as I would for any client, I gave a new client discount along with another discount because I knew she was just starting out. She hasn't paid for her return or signed it to be filed. She hasn't tried to discuss this with me. I can't give my knowledge and expertise away for free. I worked hard to get where I am. I'm sorry she feels that she shouldn't have to pay for her taxes being done when she isn't getting a refund.

If you need anything else, please let me know.

      Thanks,

      Windy

I am rejecting this response because:  questions where left un-answered, there is still no resolve here.

      Hello,

Again, I was not advised at all in any way shape, or form on what I would be charged after meeting with ParkPlace aside from being told 'it would not be a lot'.
I cannot prove this because no price was written down or agreed on.
I also cannot prove what was said over the phone to try to resolve this matter, hence the need to formerly sort this out here.

I regret having been ****** trusting vs more assertive and getting a price nailed down immediately during the meeting. I was struggling with a bad injury at the time.

The issue is the lack of transparency, it is because of a bill that has not been sent to me. It is the ******* of the questions that have not been answered by you to me.

I again, was not given a utilized statement regarding the work being done at all through out this process, nor was I sent an itemized bill or statement regarding the services that have been done.
I again, request an itemized bill to be sent to me so I can see in front of me what is going on, please.
I also would like to be sent any agreement forms that I signed prior to the meeting to make sure we are on the same page. Can you please send me these forms and bill promplty?

      Thank you, ******

The issuer of the complaint has been given all of their documentation back, and was informed that they do not owe anything. As they have also never paid anything, we consider this matter resolved. Our employees have been paid for performing the work the complaint issuer had requested, but since the complaint issuer refused to sign the required documentation for the tax return to be filed, they are not required to pay for the return. The complaint issuer continues to cost this company resources by issuing frivolous responses to a complaint that was nonsense to begin with (the original complaint was filed under the category "refund" when the client had not paid anything). We will not be providing any further documentation to the complaint issuer, or answering any more of their responses. They have no right to demand services for which they are unwilling to pay.

      Better Business Bureau:

After consulting with advisors on my end to best make sense of how to best support me after being rudely handled by this business, I found I could freely take my information back, without paying as I was not happy with the communication and the verbal guilt trip to pay for something I was afraid I was locked into, which I was not. This was my first time working with a tax provider and I again was to new to see the warning signs.

I was not happy with the customer care and communication, period.

So again, this is the truth on how things ended between the business and I---I called this business to pick up my personal information and was met in the parking lot with it by a young man. I left after recieving my information. I then emailed to triple check with the business, on the same day that I picked up my information, to make sure after reading what I did sign that there was no fee I was not aware of, to make sure all was communicated and taken care of effectively.

There was no continual communication after the brief emails where exchanged. The email was again, to make sure I didn't owe anything as this was the biggest verbal push from this business to make me somehow feel guilty for how staff was being paid. How your staff is paid, is not on the client. That is not my responsibility at all as a client, that is the business owners. Aside from this, there has been no further communication from myself to this business.

I am glad we were able to close things out peacefully,

      Sincerely,

      ***********************
