    We brought our Lexus Rx330 in to Grants Pass Toyota in October of 2021 to do the required timing belt replacement. Grants Pass Toyota made an error when they reinstalled the timing belt on our vehicle on or about 10/15/21. This led to decreased gas mileage within weeks which was dismissed by the technician as seasonal fuel mixture changes when I called in on 12/21/21. Then the check engine light began coming on every few weeks (we dont drive a lot). Each time I would call in, or if I was in Grants Pass I would take it in. At NO point did the technician on duty take a look at the vehicle even though there were VSC and Check Engine lights on. Had even one technician run the codes instead of simply hitting delete codes We would have had this issue resolved within time frame. Instead of checking the misfire codes out, they said, oh, just someone didnt tighten the gas cap. The check engine light was flashing when I went uphill. I went in with my kids in to have to code looked at on or about 04/05/2023. Same thing: codes cleared, no inspection. I did explain the flashing light. They shrugged it off. Within the last year, the gas mileage dropped to about 16 MPG in town and 18 highway, The check engine and VSC light continued to go on and error codes detected were P0300, and P0305. We brought it in for repairs to a local shop. Two cylinders were replaced thinking that was the issue. A few days later had a catastrophic engine failure and towed on 10/11/2023 to a local repair shop. The mechanic worked for weeks to troubleshoot the problem. Finally, he pulled the timing belt that had the Toyota stamp on it. As you can see from the images I am attaching, we found the problem. The bolt that houses the belt had not been properly tightened. As a result the shaft that holds the bolt was stripped creating a wear strip along the ridge. I am also attaching the local mechanics notes.

    DON'T take your vehicle here for any major service! I took my 2008 Toyota Solara convertible in to replace the radio/AC console because of damage done by a local detailing shop, cost $3008.00 Then I was told I had to replace the dashboard also. The quote for the dashboard $1619.67 and $1400.00 for labor to install. They assured me that ****, the installer had 25yrs of servicing vehicles with Lexus and was the Guru of perfection. I also am a perfectionist when it comes to my 14yr old car, she still looks brand new. I expected quality work, after all its "Toyota" When installing the dash, it did not fit or line up correctly. One would think they would have exchanged the dash for another for a better fit. Instead they "made" it fit, with gaps, lips and loose. I pointed this out, they took it back in "tightened" it up with bolts which made it look even worse with lips, dents and not lined up with the existing part of the side dash. Also, the color of the new dash did not match the old. They told me if I wanted another dash installed, I would have to pay an additional $1400,00, The Mgr also told me "the inperfections can't be seen unless the door is open" so not a big deal, you'll hardly ever see it. UNBELIEVABLE!! The Mgr told me this was "the best they could do". Then, when driving my car home from Grants Pass Toyota I noticed my steering wheel was not on straight, off about 20% to the left. You would think this "Guru" would know how to put a steering wheel on correctly?? Also, I asked ********** for them to put floor protectors down to keep the grease off my floors/side panels, yet there were still marks left. I would expect them to take more pride and care in all of the work they do. They just don't!!Grants Pass Toyota takes no pride in the work they do. If you don't like what they have done, you are stuck with it! After spending thousands of dollars to "fix" my car, I am "Stuck with their INCOMPETENT and HORRIBLE work! I wish I could attchach my pictures BEWARE!
