Bickmore Auto Sales Response
09/05/2023
The vehicles are sold 100% as-is. However, we did offer several options at the time of the sale regarding 3rd party service contracts. He declined all comprehensive service contracts such as 2year, 3year, or 4 years but rather elected to buy the limited 3month or *****-mile service contract that we offer for $1.00 at the advertised sale price. The maximum coverage on that agreement is $1000.
After ****** determined there was problem with the vehicle, he took it to **********. I got a call from ****** that he was yelling, screaming, and cussing in the building and the service manager felt threatened. We know that ****** was upset, after he calmed down and we had a chance to talk to him about the options we did offer to pitch in with the repairs. We also offered to shop prices for the repairs instead of going to the Kia ****** for the repairs. A smaller shop is often more affordable. It is possible that all the repairs could be done for closer to $5000. The service contract would have paid $1000, and we agreed to pitch in $1000 as well. It sounded like he wanted to do that, and we also spoke with his mom who said she understood and appreciated our help. ******* mom also did mention that she understood the risks associated with purchasing used vehicles and she was familiar with used cars and how after the purchase they are the responsibility of the consumer. I did receive a call from ******, and he was hoping to just swing by and get cash. I mentioned that I would like to pay the shop directly once the repairs were completed. Then ******* mom texted us saying she wanted to stop by and pick up the money, and again I said that I would like to pay the shop directly. After that I received this review. So, I guess that they do not want to fix up the vehicle? We could have talked about this or if they wanted another vehicle, I could have discounted another vehicle here on the lot or done something else, but I really did not have that opportunity. We really wish ****** and his family the best of luck.
