I bought a new Scout camper in December 2021. Extensive off gassing prevented us from being able to use the camper throughout the winter. Then, in April 2022, during snow melt I noticed extensive water running down the back wall and into the sink. Upon further observation, I noticed mold growing on the trim along the ceiling at the back of the camper, mold on trim running down the corner of the camper above the sink, and water dripping under the sink. It had gone unnoticed because it was behind the trim and a slow leak until significant snow melt happened. I contacted Scout and didn't hear back for a week or two...then contacted the dealer. After connecting with Scout, I explained the situation and asked for a new camper since the current camper had been off gassing and unusable, and now the water issue. They declined. I asked for a partial refund and extension on the 1 year warranty. They declined. They declined and type of refund at all and any type of extension on the warranty. I explained that I wanted warranty extension of **** years to cover any issues with potential mold in the future due to this original leak within months of buying the camper and within the first 2-3 months of the 1 year warranty. Scout refused to put anything in writing that would hold them responsible for any future damage related to the original leak. ********, at Scout, said that I would need to take the camper to either the dealership where I bought it which is Apache dealership in ******* or drive it to the factory in Yakima. The estimated time for repair would be 4 weeks. There would be no partial refund. There would be no warranty extension. They basically gave me one option....their option. This is not acceptable. A brand new camper with a history of water damage and mold does not hold the same value as a new, well functioning camper. I am not willing to accept what Scout offers as a reasonable or logical fix.
