I went in to jiffy lube today, July 28, 2022 in ********* ******, for a routine oil change. After getting it serviced I drove approximately 50 miles and noticed my oil temperature rising above the normal level. I referred to the original owners manual to see my cars requirements and it calls for a very specific kind of oil (0w-40). When I checked my paperwork from jiffy lube, it turns out they drained and filled it with 5w-30. 5w-30 has a substantially different viscosity and was not correct to use within the range of temperature in the climate currently where this took place. I immediately drove back to jiffy lube, explained what happened, and requested an oil flush which Is necessary to ensure none of the incorrect oil is still in my car. They refused to reimburse me or do a flush and I was forced to purchase an additional 8.5 quarts of the correct oil for ***** after having already payed ****** for 8.5 quarts of the wrong oil, service fees, and an oil filter. After talking to the manager on the phone they proceeded to put the correct oil in for me without charging a service fee for installation. However they still refused to do a flush meaning there is still a percentage of the wrong oil leftover in my car that could very well potentially damage my engine permanently. Im requesting a refund, flush, as well as a 3rd party mechanic to inspect the vehicle to make sure no damage was done to the engine. I have attached photos of all transactions.
