I must express my deep concern about the distressing encounter I had while discussing potential employment with ***********************, the owner of "Heaven Sent Nannies." Despite my significant qualifications and extensive experience as a nanny, the conversation took a disheartening turn when ***** remarked, "You can't expect to have janitorial experience while asking for CEO pay; it's just unrealistic."This experience was truly unsettling for me, as I have never before encountered someone questioning my well-established track record of hard work and dedication. Furthermore, *****'s tardiness of almost 30 minutes to our scheduled phone interview and her frustrated response when I expressed reluctance to accept a lower pay rate added to the distressing nature of the conversation.I feel compelled to caution any prospective nannies to carefully consider their options before engaging with this company. Despite being overqualified, I received a quote of $600-$800 per week for 45 hours of childcare for two children, whereas other reputable companies offer annual salaries ranging from $75,000 to $130,000 a year. ***** seemed to downplay my qualifications with the comment, "Well, I've been doing this for 20 years."It is my sincere hope that ***** reevaluates her approach in light of current living standards and industry changes. Treating individuals with respect and understanding their qualifications is crucial in any professional interaction, and the consequences of actions should be carefully considered. To add to the distressing nature of the situation, ***** abruptly hung up on me while I was in the midst of expressing my concerns. This behavior only further highlights the need for respectful and constructive communication in professional settings.

Interesting take but I don't think this is not totally accurate. I admit I was having computer issues and I texted before our scheduled interview and let the potential candidate know that I was running behind. Her response was "No worries! Please take your time :)"

It also is not exactly accurate when you say "Despite my significant qualifications and extensive experience as a nanny" You have ZERO experience for the job you were applying too and told me that you are worth CEO rates because of your experience, but you only have 5 years of babysitting experience, and you were applying for a live-in nanny position. You told me that you are worth $125, 000 for a live-in position for 45 hours a week and you will not accept less. Which is $2600/week which is about $62 an hour. I am sorry, but that is unrealistic.

I said " I have been doing this 20 years and I know that I cannot get you $125, 000 a year with zero experience, you want a CEO salary, but you are starting off with janitor experience, I am sorry if my analogy hurt your feeling. But you have ZERO experience for the job you applied for and were demanding CEO rates. I don't know any nannies in their 20's making $125, 000 year being a LIVE-IN nanny which includes room and board.

Potential candidate said she spoke to another agency and that was the going rate. I said " if the other agency can get you $125, 000 a year with no experience, then you really need to go and work with them because I cannot even get you close to $2600/week. I wonder why she is not working with them...

You call it discussing your concerns, some may label it as something different, you were upset because you didn't like what I told you. We had already said our goodbyes and wished candidate luck, candidate was still complaining she is worth CEO rates, and I don't know what I am talking about and that I should know the going rate etc..  I did end the call because I am not going to argue or be badmouthed, so she decided to badmouth me publicly. I also received a nasty text message from her after the call was over.

Cannot make everyone happy all the time!
