    Pattern of Complaint:

On October 20, 2020, a business operating as The Table Times was brought to the attention of Better Business Bureau. The Table Times website can be found at http://www.thetabletime.com/#, and they advertise as being a business that provides high quality entertainment booklets to restaurants across the U.S. and Canada. Consumers allege they paid in advance for advertising that was never printed or made available for review. Consumers further allege they have been unable to contact the business for an explanation regarding the lack of advertising services and refunds.

On October 20, 2020, Better Business Bureau spoke with a business representative regarding the consumer complaints. He explained that due to the pandemic and government imposed restrictions, he lost most of his staff. He said the business was in the process of trying to hire additional staff but the government restrictions made it difficult to hire people that had the option of staying home and collecting unemployment.  He said he began the process of outsourcing some of the printing jobs in an effort to catch up with the demand for services.

On November 18, 2020, and November 30, 2020, Better Business Bureau attempted to contact the business for an update regarding the customer complaints. The advertised telephone number of 800-824-1104 is no longer in service.

Consumers can file complaints with Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org, Federal Trade Commission Consumer Protection at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, and the Washington State Office of the Attorney General at https://www.atg.wa.gov/consumer-protection.

In October 2022, I was contacted by a salesperson at the Takeout Times and sold a paid advertisement in a publication that was supposed to be printed and distributed no later than January 2023 to three different local restaurants. I was contacted a couple of weeks later and sold an "upgraded" ad space, and paid an additional sum of money for this purpose. I called and emailed several times and the publication was delayed until MAY of 2023. I received two of the three publications in my own mailing, but not the third one. Over the next couple of months, a colleague and I ordered takeout from each of these restaurants, and visited two of them on different occasions. Each time, there was NO advertisement included with my order as was supposed to be the case (the ad exposure that I actually paid for). After speaking with management and staff at each of these restaurants, I learned that they either had never heard of the publication, or they had the ads but were never instructed or encouraged or told to distribute the as I was promised they would be distributed. So basically, I paid for a print ad that took months longer than planned to actually publish, and are not being distributed at the volume and to the intended audience that was promised by the company. I have contacted *************** (customer service manager) NUMEROUS **********************, always promised a call back, and never actually getting one. The one time he actually answered the phone, he told me that he would get me a refund, and that he would call me back to confirm the following monday. That day came and left, I never received a call. Since then I have left four additional voicemails and sent an email. This company is in breach of contract. I want my money back at this point. They are a total scam.

We had an unauthorized employee pay The Table Times $499 for ads in a flyer, then The Table Times charged an additional $499 again the next day, so they have $998. First, this was an employee who was not authorized by ownership to place said advertisements; secondly we were charged twice; third, we were in the midst of considering closing the business entirely and have managed to survive temporarily at 50% occupancy; fourth we've never seen how the ad was to display nor its circulation or target; fifth, when ownership learned of ad we reached out to The Table Times and they refused to do anything other than run an ad that they didn't have and we couldn't run due to potential closing while that employee who talked to The Table Times initially had moved home to ****** coincidentally; sixth, we've been calling The Table Times repeatedly and leaving messages the past month an no one will return our calls. We are requesting our $998 be refunded immediately. ***********************, ****** *********, **... ************
