********************** ******************************************* sold the faulty or defective air heat pump and installed it on 1/9/2018. The unit has never worked properly, like it should have. I have tried many times to resolve this issue with the owner, ******* **********************, but he doesn't cooperate and refuses to do anything about it. I paid him for service visits to fix it. He admitted to me in a text that he sold me a faulty unit and he doesn't like and use Maytag for years, yet he sold me a Maytag heat pump. I asked him many times to either 1) refund me what I paid him or 2) to troubleshoot the issue (a possible system leak due to bad valve, etc..) with the Maytag technician on the phone. But Mr. ********************** doesn't want to spend time on it. Instead, he was trying to sell me a different new heat pump for $7,199-$9,699 (less $3,200 credit). I don't have thousands of $ to pay for yet another new heat pump/AC. He needs to either refund me the $6,230 ($5,900+$300) I paid or to come troubleshoot with Maytag tech and get it fixed or replaced through the warranty. He has refused to do either of this for a few years now. As of today, my family and renters below do not have cooling in the house, and we pay 30-40% more $$$ for the heating in cold months. I am not including other costs and expenses inquired due to not having cooling and working heat pump, which are additional $6,052 over the last 3 years. He lied to me that he called the Maytag warranty department. He did not. All Mr. ********************** cares about is making a quick sale and a big profit. He doesn't care about customer satisfaction. He had 2 other homeowner's complaints with CCB in the last couple of years, negative online reviews, and very poor customer service.

The technician came out. Looked out our heating system and clean it. He said it should be working fine now, but if not call us and we'll come back out. I paid him for the visit, and I asked if there would be another charge for coming out again if it's not working. I was told there would NOT be. The heating system was still not working. I called to have them come back out, and double checked to make sure there would be not charge due to it still not working from the first visit. The technician came and said it would be $50 for a part and $100 for the visit. I told him I would pay for the parts but not the visit because I was told there would be no charge to come back out since it was not working from the first visit. He said if you don't pay it now, I will send a ****, and if you don't pay that I will send it to collections. The heating system still does not work. When I called back to the office, they said they wouldn't talk to me or give me any other help until I paid for the second visit. When I restated what was told to me and that I would pay for the parts only, he stated again he would send it to collections.

We took a service call on 1-17-22. We found the furnace running without issue.  Filter was plugged and furnace was very dirty.  Possible that it was overheating.  We cleaned furnace and changed filter.  We let them know that we couldnt recreate the problem, and that if it occurred again, to call us back. At no time did we say we would drive all the way back out for free.  The customer called back 3 weeks later, ******* and said furnace not working again.  Furnace was down this time, and we recommended they replace blower motor.  The capacitor was bad, snd motor very old.  They opted to try the capacitor and see if that would get them by.  At that time they refused to pay fir the return trip.  I informed them that we would invoice them and if they decided not to pay, we would have to send to collections.  A few days later furnace stopped again, likely blower motor bad, like we suggested. The wanted us to come out, but at this point we informed them that we didnt feel comfortable doing work for them, and that they should try and find a local company to take care of them.

Unfortunately we are unable to come to an understanding of the events that have taken place.  As I mentioned on the phone, we are an honest and affordable small business, and unfortunately we cant afford to work for free.  My recommendation is to find a local company that can give you the service you require.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The part you put in the motor did big even work and I can give it back. I understand no service is free but I am not paying for a service I did not receive. I will find a different company to do it for me but I am not paging for a service I didnt receive. I am not paying the fee because you did not provide the service you promised. I can return your parts.

      Sincerely,
