I sold my car to ********************* at the ********* location on 10/14/2022. They were to pay off my loan within 10 days and pay me my equity once the title was released. They paid the loan at BECU (*********) quickly. The check cleared and title was released to the state. **** said it could *********** weeks from 10/31/2022. **** agreed and I waited patiently for my equity check of $13,879.06 On 01/04/2023, I was told a check was being mailed that week. It never came. I contacted **** and after 2 weeks she told me to contact ***************** because he was supposed to be working on it and contacting me. **** is not responding to my calls and texts. My patience has run out and it's pretty clear that they do not intend to pay me I can't afford to hire a lawyer, but, I will if you can't help me. If I didn't need the money, I wouldn't have sold my car. I'm beyond frustrated and angry at this unprofessional response from APB.

I sold my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Auto Pro buys on 12/28/22 and as of today 1/8/23 I have still not be paid for my vehicle. I have a contract with them and proof of purchase. They owe me $14,000 for my vehicle. They were supposed to initiate and ACH to my checking account by 1/2/23 at the latest. I have tried to contact all of their locations and left voicemails but yet have not heard back. I drove to their ********* location today just to find out no one is there and their doors are locked. No sign on the door. I am very disappointed and hope to receive my money soon. If I don't get a answer in the next day I will have to seek legal action.

On December 6, 2022, we sold our 2021 RAV4 hybrid at the Bend, OR, Auto Pro Buys location for $32,995. We signed a contract and a sales agreement with *******************, the location manager. $22,633.30 of the agreed on sale price was directed to our bank to pay off our outstanding loan balance and we were to receive a check for the remaining equity ($9866.70) from Auto Pro Buys. The bank received the payoff amount electronically on December 9, 2022, but we still have not received our equity check, despite the agreement saying we could expect to receive it within 2-3 weeks of the bank receiving payment. I am concerned we have been defrauded due to the lack of contact and apparent closure of the Bend business location.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I do note that I was only able to obtain resolution in this matter after repeated phone calls and emails to the business, including contacting the Oregon *** and threatening to go to the media with our story. I am glad that it is resolved, but still very disappointed that the business did not do the right thing until we pressured them.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

I sold a vehicle to auto pro buys on 10/21/2022, for a total of ********. I had an outstanding balance of $39771.21 to **** of America. They charged me a fee of $499.00, which leaves $21728.79 as equity to me. They paid the **** of America portion of $39771.21 around 11/8/2022. I was promised the $21728.79 upon their receipt of title from the bank, which was late November 2022. I have been told theyre working on it on a weekly basis. I finally got a call in to the owner *********************** on 01/04/2023. He said hes liquidating the company due to employees stealing from him. He said he would wire transfer my funds on 01/06/2023. That did not happen. I feel hes been running a Ponzi scheme. I have spoken with an attorney who specializes in car dealers, who I am retaining next week.

******* from Auto Pro Buys in ********* texted me on 11/9/23 shortly after I posted my vehicle on *********** He did not disclose that he worked for a company until after we had texted for 2 days and he had made me an offer. I was apprehensive about selling my car to a company I'd never heard of but saw the majority of reviews on ****** were positive. I asked the agent to gaurantee the offer amount which he did, but upon arrival we were offered $400 less by store manager and told 2 of the tires were worn. We agreed to $250 less than the original offer. Auto Pro Buys printed us a check for $26,250 and we signed the title over. They gauranteed the check would go through within 48 hours. My bank called me 72 hours after I deposited the check and informed me the check was returned due to insufficient funds (check bounced). After calling and speaking to the ********* store manager ****** numerous times, I finally recieved a text from the financial officer ****** who said he would know more tomorrow and would call me. I called **** the next day and he told me they could wire me the money or have the bank run the check again as there was now money in the account. I had the bank try the check again. **** did not give me any sort of explaination for the check bouncing. He did say that they would give me money to cover any bank fees and for the inconvenience that Auto Pros cuased. This never happened. After the second attempt, the bank said the check went through and the money was in my account. However, a week later I was informed that again, the check had been returned for insufficient funds! This time my account was overdrawn $10,000 as I already purchased another vehicle. I am currently waiting for any communication back from Auto Pro Buys and trying get my money. They have my car and title and I am overdrafted $10,000. I have not recieved a dime from them thus far. I was told by **** the financial officer once again that he was looking into it and would call me back.

I've had to condense this due to character restriction-On 10/1/22 I took my 2017 ****** Camry to Auto Pro Buys in ********* for them to purchase. The contract that I signed a contract with them stating that they would be depositing $14,500.00 into my bank account. According to the contract, it was to be deposited on 10/5/22 by 2:00 pm. On 10/7, there was still no deposit in my account. I called the company again and spoke with ****** (the manager). He told me that he would call corporate and get back to me. ****** called a little later and said that the account number had been listed incorrectly and the deposit had been returned to their bank (Chase) with a possible indicator for fraud. I the re-verified my account information and was told that because of the mixup up, the company would then do a Wire Transfer instead of an ACH to get the money to us sooner and it should then deposit into my account on Tuesday (10/11/22) or Wednesday (10/12/22. It is now Wednesday 10/12/22. I have tried to talk with ************************* from corporate (who I am now told is in charge of this). He has failed to answer or return any phone calls. He has left his manager (******) to hold the bag, so to speak. I finally received an email back from ******, not ************************* at approximately 3:30 pm. In that email he tells ****** that the accounting department intends on reissuing the funds tomorrow, 10/13/22 or worst case scenario the funds would be released on Friday 10/14/22. I take that last part as RELEASED on their end, not deposited into my account. I am receiving excuses, and delays for the last 7 days. I have been patient and tried everything on my end to rectify any issues. I signed a contract in good faith with Auto Pro Buys and they have not held up any part of their contractual liability. They have my car, the title and the funds and are trying every thing they can to not pay me. There is no reason that the company needs to wait for the funds to be released from Chase.

****************** gave Auto Pro Buys the wrong bank information and this caused delay in him getting his funds.  Ive attached an email chain between him and our employees who worked tirelessly to figure out what went wrong.

It was nothing on our side that caused the delay in him receiving his payment.  He did receive his funds on Oct 13th.

We have closed his file and consider this complaint moot.

Please let us know if you need anything further.
