      I repeatedly tried to cancel this service using their app and online portal. Eventually I just cancelled my credit card because they would not stop billing me. After i thought I had cancelled, Ruby answered perhaps 8 calls in 6 months, then claimed I owed them $1800 because they had been trying to bill my non-existent card without my knowledge. After I told them over and over again that I had had to cancel my card to stop their recurring charges, they sent me to collections.Stay far, far away from this very sneaky company. They don't care about small business owners and engage in deceptive billing practices.

      This company is violating the personal privacy of 1st party business customers. They are taking information without identifying themselves as a 3rd party answering service. An employee of this company pretended to work for a private business I was trying to contact. They took my personal contact information... However, I asked this person if they worked for the company itself or if they worked for a 3rd party answering service. The employee of Ruby answering service avoided answering my question twice and also gave me a response to make me think they worked for the private business rather than for Ruby. I told the person I did not approve of a 3rd party such as Ruby documenting my personal information and they hung-up on me. This is a problem as 3rd party business like this are documenting the personal contact information of people and selling that information. Furthermore it is not legal for a person to be answering calls and pretending to work for the business itself.

      I would discourage anyone from using Ruby Receptionist or Grasshopper for their phone answering service. They fraudulently billed $2800 plus in 13 days for their service...they have a 21 day money back guarantee with no questions asked, said they would refund, and have not. I called to talk to them and they put me on death hold to talk to a supervisor. I suppose I'm going to have to file a charge back against them. They are to be avoided at all costs.
