The manager/owner sold me a lemon **** which had been sold before at his business. Within a week it was leaking oil from rear seal engine leak. While in for repair *** ******** assess the drivers seat and said it need replaced as well as airbags due to an accident. Noted the car fax did not reveal an accident at dealership. Speaking to owner he assured me he would take care of me. He said he would take the vehicle back and he would like to sell me a Tesla Model 3. I agree to the idea since the *** was not repaired due to the purchased warranty would not cover pervious damage. So the process of getting a loan approval started. He made me feel like it was my credit was a problem. I got the car. I was happy to get rid of the *** lemon. Come to find out it was me that paid the price for the car.My original idea was to get into a less expensive car. Because my income is SSDI. My loan is still owe $54,000. The Tesla is only worth ******. Dealerships will only give $17,000 on trade in. I was taken advantage of at this dealership. I have done a lot of business with this dealership. I dont know why the owner did not make things right. He knew the *** was not a good car. I am very sad he would take advantage of a female, only on disability. I wish they would have been honest. I think he still should make things right but trading and having a vehicle that is not over $20,000 negative value.Business response

We're dissapointed to hear this from ******, as she was a previous customer who purchased and sold us a few vehicles in the past. The *** ****** originally purchased was not a lemon, but had cosmetic issues, such as the drivers seat paint fading. Any time a used vehicle is taken to a new car franchise service department, they will always reccomend replacing rather then fixing. Nontheless, when ****** told us she was not happy with the ***, we took it back and got her financed on a 2019 Tesla Model 3. At the time of the sale, which was in August 2022, ***** Blue Book Retail on this vehicle was $53,880, Wholesale was $51,081. Upon checking ***** Blue Book Retail on the same vehicle today, without even taking into account the mileage she's put on the vehicle, ***** Blue Book Retail is now $32,445, and wholesale is $29,552. (The exact numbers will be even less, once the mileage difference has been accounted for). From the time ****** purchased this vehicle from us, until today, the *** value has dropped well over $20,000. We, nor any other car dealership, can be held responsible for any vehicles value that *** depreciate over time. Cars depreciate, and the Tesla market has taken a huge hit in the past year. I have attatched the ***** Blue Book sheet from date of purchase with ****** miles. ****** keep in mind when assesing the value of the vehicle today, you must also update the miles, which will further depreciate the value. It's unfortunate the vehicle depreciated that much in a short amount of time, but this is something that is simply not in our control.Customer response
