I took my car to this place to get my brakes fixed. They promised me they could perform this for me. They could not. They got an ABS Hydraulic Control part from the junk yard because they said the ***** dealership did not have one in stock and I would have a wait. Since my car was torn apart and I could not take possession of it, I agreed it was okay. The took almost a week to get to their shop and I was without transportation. When they fixed it, they did not have the equipment to finish the job. They sent me to another shop. They could not fix it either. They told me I would have to take it to the dealership, which is almost a 2 hour drive on the freeway and could not guarantee I would be safe because of the brakes not being fixed. I called the ***** dealership in ******, **, where I was told to take it. The dealership said they could not guarantee I would be safe and could not guarantee they could fix the problem either because of the junk yard part and no matching VIN number to my car. I asked ******* Precision if I could take it to a shop in ******** that said they could finish the job. ******* Precision forbid it and refused to pay the shop to fix it, though they would have paid ***** dealership and the other shop that couldn't fix it. This has been going on since the last day of November 2021.

      Dear BBB,

I just noticed ****** Person's complaint on the backside of the letter. My apologies!

****** came into our shop in Nov. of 2021 asking if we could fix her brakes. Her brakes were squealing when she hit the brake pedal. We did a free brake inspection and told her she needed front brakes, a brake flush, and a rear brake (clean and adjust). After doing the brakes we noticed her *** light stayed on. We thought she had a bad master cylinder, so we replaced it. The *** light still stayed on. We couldn't diagnose  the issue, so we took it to ***********. They told us it needed an *** Hydraulic Control Unit. The ***** Dealership in ******, **. told ** they couldn't get that part anymore along with all the parts stores in town. It is not available for that year and make of car. We contacted a wrecking yard and they had one. We were told it had to be programed to the car. We installed the part and referred her to ***********  in ********. They informed her that they couldn't program it and that she needed to take it to the ***** dealership in ******, **.

In April 2022, ****** came back into our shop asking for a total refund. We told her to take it to the ***** dealership to get it programmed and she refused. We let her know we did work on her car that absolutely needed to be done and couldn't give her a total refund.

With this being the case, we are willing to refund the total of $899.00 for the parts she didn't need or didn't fix the problem. I'm sending the original invoice with parts and labor outlined that didn't resolve the problem. Everything else was needed on her car. The total came to $999.00 and we had given her a 10% discount equaling $899.00.

It's unfortunate, but we don't have a ***** Dealership in ********, **. I wish we could have resolved this for ****** Person.

Sincerely, ***************************. DC Precision Lube and Tune
