In 2019 my rental unit had a water pipe leak in the wall behind the kitchen sink. ************ did the mitigation and repair. My insurance, Homesite, paid them and I paid my deductible. They did not do all the work the independent adjuster recommended, telling me that it was not necessary. As soon as they finished (which took 3 months) , I had the unit re-piped.In June of 2021, the wall and floor of the cabinet under the sink collapsed and was full of dry rot. I called ************ to speak with ***************************, my project manager, but was told he was no longer there. I attempted to speak to the business owner, *********************************, but he wouldn't return my calls. I took bids and had the repair work done by another contractor. This cost me over $7,000 out of pocket. I requested Homesite re-open my original claim, which they did, but apparently are not getting detailed enough information from this contractor to process an additional claim. I am still working with Homesite on this.The work should have been done in 2019 and been billed to my insurance, as the adjuster recommended. I am now seeking recovery of the $7,138.46 that the repair cost me from ************.
