On March 27, 2023 I went to Timber Dental-Sherwood for a dental exam and teeth cleanng. The staff at Timber Dental lied by omission when they did not inform me as to what was covered under my insurance prior to performing procedures. As I was leaving the office I was told that I needed to pay $299.00 for the deep cleaning that I received on three teeth. I was not numbed and was not aware that deep cleaning had been performed until the dentist stated that she had performed deep cleaning on three of my teeth. I'm skeptical that "deep cleaning' was performed. I was not numbed. I also was not told that my insurance would not cover deep cleaning prior to the dentist performing the procedure. I paid the $299.00 before I left the office. I asked if I owed anything further and was told, "No."Timber Dental billed my insurance for the following unauthorized treatments: 1.Topical Fluoride Varnish - I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS TREATMENT (Timber Dental claims that I must have because it is in the chart notes. I don't care what's in the chart notes, I didn't receive it.2. Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing - I am skeptical as to whether or not I received this treatment. The dentist did not inform me that this procedure was taking place prior to performing it. Nor, was I informed that it was not covered by my insurance. I was informed that I owed $299 for the procedure prior to leaving the dental office on March 27th, so I know they checked my insurance coverage at some point. Even though I had paid for this procedure out of pocket at the time of service, Timber Dental still billed my insurance provider for it.3. Bitewings 4. Panoramic Film.Timber Dental engaged in unethical practices by A) billing for a procedure that was not performed. B) Not informing me that procedures were NOT covered by insurance prior to performing them. C) Billing my insurance company for a procedure that I had already paid out of pocket for. D) Beginning a treatment without informing me..
