We drove all the way to Sherwood from Bend to complete the "interview" process with Camp ************* so that we could use their services in other locations while traveling with our 5 month old pup. When we showed up for the interview, the lady ***** (I think her name is) took our puppy back and introduced him to the dogs 1 at a time and assessed his reactions and behaviors with the other dogs and then came out to tell us that was the easiest interview ever - which is not surprising because our pup is extremely friendly with all people and animals. While ***** was standing there talking to us, we were watching the live cameras and my boyfriend pointed out that this one black dog was following our puppy everywhere and making our puppy shy away from him and ***** was very quick to say "oh that's ****" and assured us that there is always staff supervising the dogs and that Jax would be ok. We felt hesitant but left him there to play. Not even an hour later we got a call from ***** at Camp ************* that our pup got "scratched" from a dog and would need stitches. We rushed to pick him up and it took 2 hours to find a vet that we could get into but we finally found one about 30 minutes away. Several different vets said it looks more like a bite wound and because his wound was pretty deep, the vet we took him to ended up keeping him over night. We went back to Camp ************* to explain the situation and see if they would cover the **** because we were now having to pay for a hotel and things we needed to stay over since this was only suppose to be a day trip but ***** said they would only cover half of the **** and when I tried to explain that this kind of a wound doesn't seem like the result of normal puppy play and that it seems like they have too many dogs in a small space, she was like "it was **** but he already left". So it was the same dog we brought to her attention when we first dropped our pup off but they failed to protect him.
