Truly traumatic experience I never thought I would use the word traumatic in the same sentence as a hair salon until I visited Ulta Beauty. On my phone consult called and had a phone consult I requested honey blonde hair overall color. I was told that in one visit the best progress that could be made was a caramel color and it would be $80 an hour for this service and would take between 3-4 hours. I really just wanted an all over lighter color but the stylist told me when I got there the only way I could do it would be highlights and I had to use a color that was darker than my existing for the base color. I was confused. She then said if I did it any other way my hair would fall out and referenced how her own hair was as short as it was from her over bleaching her own hair. She then started the process. I was told they ran out of bleach so the manager brought bleach from her own home. It was an already opened bag and the stylist and manager were talking about buying various other products in Amazon which got me concerned about the quality. The stylist also said she had never used the product before. They also didn't have the dye I chose for the base color and the manager went to Cosmo to get it but when she came back they didn't have it and I was told they would basically just mix some other dyes and make it work (this was well into the process but grouping it here as I feel a large part of the issue was their lack of overall supplies). Not long in the stylist started appearing very frazzled. She had some foil in my hair that had tiny whisps of hair and left other sections completely untouched. She kept debating about tapping the root and asking me what she should do. She was also constantly interrupted by sales floor associates and spent most of her time gossiping. She shared scissors with me and another client without sanitizing. My hair came out terrible in every way uneven, white roots, black under and no response from cooperate after multiple calls.
