They lied to me about what i was signing, and they neglected to tell me how much everything would cost, until after they processed the return, after i specifically told them not to process it until i found out how much it would cost.Business response

********************* has filed taxes with us in the past in 2018,2019 and 2021. He filed taxes in 2022 and his fee went from $220 in 2021 to $239 in 2022. He also agreed to in the past paying a bank fee to have our preparation fees come out of his refund. He has signed the same documents on all of his previous filings. The tax preparer went through each screen as ********************* signed to wrap up his taxes. He did not have to sign and agree to using our services, he chose to and was obviously aware of how it has been presented in the past. In fact in 2018 and 2019 we did not even get paid. His tax refund went to back child support, back taxes, or some other government debt. His right to privacy has them not telling us what his taxes went to pay. He wanted a refund for the work we had done completing his return and is not entitled to that. He was rude, cussing and very disrespectful to myself and my employees. And due to this he was invited to not return to our business and now he is just trying to retaliate. In reality I should send him to collections for the back taxes we never got paid for. This should address the nature of this false complaint.
We bill all of our customers by the form and offer the same way to pay for the preparation fees to thousands of our customers every year and have never had an issue or a complaint about hiding fees. We are very transparent. Let me know if you have any other questions. ****************;

It sounds to me the retaliation is on all their side. I didn't know the government was going to take my refund in year's past, and i was never told by the people at Liberty tax service that this was a problem. This year, they obviously distracted me while i was signing obligatory forms, and processed the service as quickly as possible, and they neglected to tell me how much anything would cost before the service was already processed. This is deceptive, predatory, and illegal. AND, I still have yet to get an explanation as to why the service costed 3 times as much in the past, despite my refund being half as much in the past. Shame on you ******. Also, this is slightly irrelevant, but last year he gave me an attitude when i told him i wouldn't be spending the refund locally.Business response

This is the taxpayers 4th time in our office. His fee for filing went up $19 for filing 2022 compared to 2021 filing fees. They were $220 plus bank fees totaling $299.95 last tax season and they were $239 plus bank fees total $318.95. This is not 3 times the amount. If he was so unhappy he should not have returned. He is an adult and has signed these documents 5 times including this tax season. ******** fees were identical to what he paid last tax season. This is a baseless complaint and a waste of my time. This is the last time I will waste any of my time responding. He is still not welcome back in our business because of his foul language and the way he treated my employees. I am attaching the invoice for 2021 and the invoice for 2022. I am also attaching the signed bank documents he signed. Nobody cares where he spends his money. *************** Owner
