      There Tech wouldn't discuss my car over the phone.I had to evaluate my car myself.They overcharged my probable simple 1.5 hr job as 2.6 hrs @$140/hr (told me that was standard).

      The customer came in with his modified corvette and wanted Tylers Automotive to install an oil pump that the customer supplied. He stated that oil pump for the turbos had failed. Since this vehicle was modified and not factory the manager advised him to get the part. Our technician tried to install this part and reached out three different times to try and speak with the customer regarding the install. Every time our technician tried the customer was in a very loud area. Our technician asked him if he could find a quieter spot to speak with him. The customer never did this.
      Our technician installed the customer supplied part and the customer came in. While writing up the paperwork the customer left in his car without paying or communicating to us what he was doing. He was gone for about 45 minutes to an hour, at this point our shop notified the ****************************** He showed after about an hour and apologized for taking off, that this is something he would not do. We then gave him his invoice and only charged him for what the technician had into it. Customer agreed this was a fair price,paid his **** and left.
      Two hours later right before 6 pm he called the office stating his car would not start. Our manager drove to the Wilsonville library where he was located with a jump box. When our manager arrived, the car was running. The customer then apologized and said he forgot to do a special lock out procedure. He then thanked our manager for coming out and shook his hand and our manager left. The next day the customer wrote a bad review and we never heard from until now.

      I was told me $140/HR was a standard rate, it was high when I research it. Their Tech wouldn't discuss my car, and only told me the car was problematic and I needed to cone in. When I got there the car was outside unattended idling for a said several hours.. I took it for that evaluation. When I got back I felt that they bumped the price because I took my car. This was a very simple straight forward job, certainly not all easy though given a lowered corvette. Still I can't see 2.6 hours, but, my main problem here is that very absorbent (Penalty) rate. Please Advise!
