I received a claim of possessory Lien and notice of foreclosure sale for a vehicle that they have without my permission and for an insurance settlement that has not been settled. They are attempting to charge me storage and auction fees as well, that should be between USAA insurance company and whomever they made their agreement with.

On the notice received there is a process # I will need that number in order to view the lien in question.

I will need the process number off of the notice you received so I can look up the vehicle.

      Thank you for your feedback.

If the vehicle claim has not been settled please contact insurance Auto Auction and give them the reference number stated on your notice. The letter you received should also have a insert explaining why you received the notice, this is between the insurance company and salvage pool. The fees owing are not charged to you, but contracted between the ***************** and salvage pool. the letter was sent to you only to fulfill the law requirements of the lien.process.

I am rejecting this response because:

I appreciate this information and it makes sense.  USAA and IAA are who I am having the problem with because they are not resolving the claim.  Can I please have something in writing indicating that the car is not going to auction until the claim is resolved.  Once I receive that I can approve this complaint as being resolved.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

Unfortunately I don't have the authority to stop the auction. Please call IAA and give them the reference # on your notice and they should be able to help you.

I received a letter stating a vehicle that I had traded into a dealership in December had been towed and that I was responsible for the costs of towing and storage. When I contacted the business, I was repeatedly told that *** showed I was the last registered owner. I spoke to *** and the dealership I traded the vehicle in to, and both confirmed the dates of transfer and sale to another party. Both the dealership and *** said that I was not responsible for what this company was trying to get from me. I called Auto Lien Source back to give them this information and that I had proof from the *** and the dealership as well as my paperwork from the sale of the vehicle at the dealership and that I was not responsible. They told me that they go off of some *** website portal and that the person I spoke to AT the *** was wrong. I was then instructed to contact the towing company for them to release the lien and not send it to collections. Before making that call, I check the BBB website and noticed the previous complaint for this company and the almost exact issue they encountered. Sounds like a scam to harass people out of money.

Auto Lien Source is required to follow laws set up by DMV on how to process liens, When we did our lookup with DMV for ownership information at that time *********************** was shown as the Registered owner by law we have to send notices to her. We are not trying to get money out of her the fees showing are from the towing and storage fees owed to the towing company. We received a call from ****** and tried to explain the process she was upset and it was difficult to get her to understand. When she called us we did another lookup and yes the info did change but at that point the lien was started. I directed her to call the tow company and work out something with them. ****** commented that she noticed another complaint like hers well that is because on that situation the owner was someone different than what DMV was showing as well this happens and obviously we would take the same actions and we are not scamming people just doing a process for businesses that need it.
