On May 11, three of us signed purchase orders for three tiny homes in Hope Valley Resort. Between the three of us, we invested roughly $400,000 in homes built by ****************************** in *****, ******. The Hope Valley sales associate assured they would be ready for occupancy by the end of August. While it seemed to us to be a rather lengthy wait for the construction of 400-square-foot homes, we began to plan our move from the Phoenix area.Even as we moved to ****** at the end of August, we were told none of the homes would be ready as promised. It would begin a series of delays fueled by excuses, finger-pointing and shrugged shoulders. Officials at IHC turned a deaf ear to our numerous complaints. We would discover through Hope Valley representatives that IHC inevitably blamed COVID, supply-chain issues and a lack of workers, factors that should have been communicated to us when we bought the homes in May. Instead we were promised a series of move-in dates stretching from August through November. As a result, all three of us had to find lodging, involving a dozen moves among expensive Airbnb homes. ************** also had to arrange boarding for cats at at cost of $3,000 per month. In all, weve spent more than $20,000 caused solely by continuing IHC delays.Two of the homes were finally ready in November. There remains no date for the third, only that it will not likely open for occupancy until January.
