I am writing to raise an awareness so no other vulnerable retiree experiences my angst. I was quoted three different fees for a regular dental cleaning, each quote increasing in dollar amount. I spoke with billing the afternoon of 11/23/22, who stated that estimates for services rendered is a standard practice because their office reserves the right to give estimates of fees. If that is their practice, then the client needs to be informed of possible changes to their bill prior to service. I did express this to billing, but they informed me they reserve the right to change fees.I am writing to you for two reasons: 1) please ask the Bellisario Team to put in writing their billing policies, especially if the fees may change. And 2) I have excellent A plus credit. I want to make certain the Bellisario Team does not lower my credit rating.THIS IS THE NOTE I SENT BILLING:Oct 17, 2022, 4:01 PM Good afternoon, ******, As a recent retiree in the public school system, I am covered by ********************************** At my regularly scheduled dental cleaning in September, prior to service that day, I did inform *****, at your front desk, that my insurance had changed and provided the new insurance card and account number. I was quoted two different fees. At the time, the agreed upon fee was $27,00, which I paid in cash that same day. Then, after the fact, I received a third fee in the mail claiming I still owed money on my balance. I did call and talked to ***** in your billing department, who explained she never heard of my type of insurance. To my knowledge, the ************************** Retirement System is a very well established entity, widely known. Could you kindly update your system and my account?

      Dear ***** ***,
I am sorry for the delay with writing this letter to you. **** *** **** has been a patient for 28 years and she has been happy with our practice. She changed insurances and told us the day she walked in for her cleaning appt, We always tell a patient we can give them a estimate of what they will owe. That is what my receptionist did.
**** *** did call me and challenged the amount owed to my office manager and she told her we would write it off and we did, My Office manager told her in the future she should see our Associate Dr R****** as he participates with her NEW insurance and Dr Bellisario does not. She then proceeded to threaten me by saying if this is going to be a billing issue she will contact her attorney.
I wrote the balance off and explained what would be best for her in the future for financially. I don't know what more I could have done.
I am sorry she reported us as I am not sure what the complaint is about as she paid nothing for the services rendered that she is complaining about.
She did request her records to be transferred to another practice per my office manager
If you need further information on this, Please contact me at ###-###-####. Thank You

      Best Regards,

      Jeffrey Bellisario DDS, PC
