Called Deiter Bros in December for some heating problems that I was having. *********************, Bethlehem, PA *********, ************** Dec 30 - Came out replaced the Capacitor $310.00 Tech told me that he could not get the unit to go back on so I would need to continue to use aux heat until it warms up outside. Dec electric bill $818.00 Unit still did not work. Jan 6th: Came out again - Supposedly had to rewire the ****, outside at handler & downstairs heat pump. This did not happen as I have a **** camera & he did not rewire anything. $407.00 Heat still using aux heat & the unit did not get fixed. Jan 27th: Came out again Tech now says that I have a leak in the hose & needs to drain the whole system & do a leak search for $224 & then adding back all the necessary refrigerant after leak is found is $134 a pound of refrigerant. Jan electric $1100.00 None of these were the issues. Never did Deiter Bros ask me about my warranty. Called ******** ******** (warranty) spoke to them about the issue as I already spent a great deal of money with no resolution. They asked me about Deiter brothers as they installed the unit. I told them that they are not a reputable company as I had them out 3 times and each time it is a new issue. They continued to charge me even though it was never fixed and they kept pushing the Preventative maintenance. They just kept raking in the money. ******** ******** recommended I call *** ******* ,*** * **** ***, Alburtis, PA *****, (**** ******** I did ask ******** ******** to take Deiter Bros. off their recommended vendor listing as I would not want anyone else having to have to go through all those issues and expenses. *** ******* came out right away and diagnosed the issue as the valve from the handler that goes into the house was blocked. The part would need to be ordered, (it was covered on the warranty) & I would only have to cover the labor and any refrigerant. Was fixed and paid another $1250.00Business response

1. On December 30, 2022 we received a call for no heat. Our technician checked the system and found the dual capacitor was bad. This capacitor helps the compressor and outdoor fan start properly. Once it was replaced the technician started the system back up and it was producing heat. We recommend a preventative maintenance be done on the system at that time. We charged our standard dispatch fee as well as a repair fee for the Capacitor.
2. On January 06, 2023 we received a call for no heat at all. We checked the system and found that the indoor heat pack, (Emergency heat), wiring was not properly wired at the thermostat, for it to come on. Wiring was corrected, (at the air handler). The client had heat and the outdoor unit was running as well. We did not charge a dispatch fee for this call. We did charge a repair fee for the wiring repairs.
3. On January 27, 2023 which is three weeks since the last call we received, a call for the heating system NOT RUNNING PROPERLY came in. This means the system was running in emergency heat not a combined heat pump outdoor and electric heat pack. Our technician checked the system and found on start up the outdoor suction pressure would go into a vacuum and trip the low-pressure switch. We provided two options, first was to add refrigerant and try to adjust the pressures to factory specifications or do a leach search on the system. Both tasks were properly quoted to the customer. The Customer declined both. We did not charge for this call.
The client did not tell us her equipment was under warranty and that she had it transferred from the previous homeowner. As for the second call she was only charged for the wire repairs which is not covered under warranty by the manufacturer. The time between the second call and the third was three weeks. We don't show any calls during this time.
Additionally, had the repair for adding refrigerant been approved, our Technician would have seen the TXV issue and advised the client.
The Capacitor was bad and it was replaced. No credit will be issued for this call.
The wiring was repaired and the backup heat was working. While we don’t feel that this is refundable, we will refund this call in it’s entirety. Total refund will be $400.07 and will be issued within 30 days.Customer response

I previously filed a claim and Deiter bros agreed to refund me money but they have not paid me. I feel like they agreed just to not get a ding on their rating but they never sent me the check. Again another bait and switch by Deiter brothers.
