Monday, June 13th, 2022 My husband and I watched as one of MD Paving and Masonrys *************) trucks backed into our mailbox snapping it off the wood post and breaking the mailbox. Bernie (owner), who happened to be there and witness it said he would get it fixed the same day. A few hours later, he brought a plastic Step 2 Mailbox. One of his workers plopped it backwards over top the broken post which was leaning, due to the hit it took. I told Bernie that this was not acceptable and that I wanted the mailbox replaced with the same wooden decorative post that they broke and a new mailbox, which they also broke. We also had a newspaper box attached to the original mailbox, but I told Bernie we didn’t need that replaced. I saw Bernie the next few days in our neighborhood, as he is paving driveways near our house. He promised over and over again that he would fix it on Wednesday, June 15th, then came by later in the day to say that he would fix it on Friday, June 17th. He didn’t show and didn’t call. I called him on Friday, and he said that it was too hot out and that he would definitely come on Monday, June 20th. On Monday, June 20, 2022, Bernie’s crew was in the neighborhood, yet no sign of Bernie. I called him around noon and said I wanted it done today, that it had been 8 days now. He got upset and said he would try that he was busy and that he would stop by today and speak with me… He asked if I would go to Home Depot and buy the post. I said no. Bernie did not show up or call. I texted him at 8pm stating that I was disappointed in him and his company for blowing us off and not fixing the mailbox that his company broke. I told him that I would be contacting BBB in the morning and filing a formal complaint.
