Asked BJOE for shale and nolevel it off, remove 2 stumps for a garage and stay away from my septic system. He removed the stumps and dug into my Leach bed and used the dirt to level for the garage. He didn't use shale. I had him fill my Leach bed back in that day but it started leaking the next day. When I told him about it, he demanded payment first and l had to provide the dirt to cover my Leach bed. He spent half his time uncovering and covering my leach bed which l told him to stay away from.

BJOE always takes pictures before, during, and after every single job we do. Pictures were taken before stripping off the topsoil. Pictures were also taken of the two tree stumps that he said were small, but they were actually pretty big. Next, pictures were taken of his septic showing itself just below the sod. I never moved his original stake to prove in a picture that this is what he originally wanted. I have proof from both of my workers that he was completely satisfied and was a happy BJOE customer before the workers left that day.

A zoomed in picture was taken to prove that he had someone prior to us driving a dual axle truck up into his leach bed for some unknown reason. I always let the homeowner know before doing any building that you always want to put a slope away, a swale, or a French drain to handle any surface water. The homeowner kept telling me that he never gets any rain surface problems. I said that any time there is construction, you change things, and it needs a plan to collect water and manage it. With his leach bed this close to his stake out building, I made sure to let him know there will be a water problem and he kept saying "No, I'm fine here".

The next photo taken showed his handmade septic tanks made out of cinder blocks and a metal lid. We took note of how close his stakes are again to the leach field, and he kept saying that it won't be a problem. *** ***** wanted me to make a second trip out just after a heavy rainstorm to fill the area back in using his topsoil pile again and I said that you need a drainage or a slope with a swale installed to drain this water problem. He said to just put the soil in there over top of the shale. That now put the soil in the building pad. Pictures were taken before and after placing the soil exactly the way he wanted it and he was a happy customer.

BJOE workers took the time to try to explain to the homeowner that he would have issues if it was not done correctly, but *** ***** continued to insist that it be done exactly the way he wanted it, so that's what was done. *** ***** paid and was a happy customer when everything was finished.
      Sincerely,
      Brian J. O****

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Concerning b j o e excavating, was not happy with his service, I was building a garage all I needed was some shell and have it leveled off. He kept telling me I needed a ditch around it, I told him no, he said I would have water problems. I've lived here 40 years and never had a water problem there and I told him to stay away from my septic and he started digging into it. I had him fill it back in, I was happy until the next day when it started leaking  and I had to take care of it from there on and fix my septic back up . I was paying for his service and I wanted it done my way not his.

      Your truly
