      A horrendous experience with this company that is still ongoing. On November 3, 2022, I ordered a barn mirrored door from White Shanty. It was supposed to be manufactured and delivered on December 12, 2022, per our contract. Ot was over $2,000 door. On December 12, 2022 I have received no update on the status of my door. On December 14, 2002, I reached out and found out that the mirror broke and they needed to order a new mirror and there would be a 2-week delay. Of course, I understood. On December 28, 2022, there was no word on my door and no update calls from White Shanty. On January 4, 2023, after multiple calls and emails to Marissa Ducary and Dawn Carroll, I received a photo of my door on January 6, 2023. Again, multiple emails and calls to White Shanty, finally I was told that the door was shipped on January 10, 2023 with 2-3 business day delivery timefram. On January 16, 2023, having not received a call from the shipping carrier - ArcBest, I reached out to them to schedule my delivery. They informed me that the door was LOST and "they have no eyes on it." On January 18, I called and emailed White Shanty and have not received a single call or email back today. This has been a nightmare of an experience! DO NOT order anything from this company. Go to Home Depot or Lowes or find someone local. This is the worst experience ever.

      VERY POOR QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! If I could I'd of given a negative 5 stars. Ordered a double steel framed door, each with 12 glass panels. The door was fine, but the hardware to mount the door was TERRIBLE...it wasn't properly painted and it peeled. It took a month for them to send a 2nd set of hardware, but the same result...the paint peeled. They were suppose to send me a 3rd set of hardware, but it kept getting delayed. After MANY MANY MANY calls and emails...and 4 months later....I finally settled with them by getting them to agree to pay me to have the hardware powder coated in my home town. NOTE: when the powder coating company pulled the bearings from the rollers, so the rollers could be powder coated, they found the bearings very gritty and not smooth rolling. I ended up replacing all the bearings. In addition to the paint problem, the holes in the roller assemblies didn't match the mounting holes in the door. And 2 of the 4 replacement roller assemblies wasn't properly made...the steel wasn't bent at the correct (90 degree) angle. So my contractor had to elongate/round out the holes in the roller assemblies that were properly made (except for the hole alignment) to be able to bolt them to the door (there were a total of 4 roller assemblies...2 for each door). Through all of this, the customer service was TERRIBLE!!! This included things like: no response to emails, no return calls after promising to call me back, getting different answers as to what was happening, lack of information on what was going on and what the outlook was for a solution, and etc. For the last few months I was calling them 2 - 3 times a week. About the last month or so I was talking with a supervisor, which wasn't much better...other than him being able to agree to pay me to have the hardware powder coated. I have my pictures of the problems and would attach if I could. This ordeal occurred from mid December 2021 thru mid May 2022.

      Garbage. I spend $1300 on a large custom barn door plus $400 shipping. The quality is piss poor, the custom shipping crate they had to build for the door was better quality than the door itself; they didn't even bother sanding the door before painting, the inner panel was not bonded to the outer frame and as a result the panel shifts around and you can see unpainted inner panel areas. The paint job was awful, I could have done better with a $2 rattle can. I've had lots of custom cabinets, doors and other assorted household items made for our home over the past 20 years and can say with confidence this company produces garbage. Then the negotiation begins for a partial credit, which they said they approved then immediately stopped responding to any status inquiries. 30 days later, the the credit card dispute begins. I've managed to find a painter to come fix the door, do it right and repaint it. But if I wanted to do all of this myself or have painters in and out of my house multiple times I wouldn't have spent the kind of money I did with White Shanty. Stay away, far away, this company is just bad.

      I ordered a set of double barn doors with hardware in January 2022. The customer service and design service was excellent. The doors were well made but my installer had to drill new holes to accommodate the hardware. Overall we were very satisfied. Then I ordered a single door with hardware in April. The door arrived but the hardware was not what I ordered. In addition I ordered a 12” handle but received an 8” handle. I called customer services and was told that they couldn’t help me with the hardware problem and that they no longer offered the 12” handle so they sent what they had. I emailed and called the company to see if I could speak to someone about the problem and after not hearing from anyone for two days - I just gave up. The hardware they sent was flimsy and could not be installed. My installer had to get a track made locally to make the door work. Although our first experience was great we are very displeased with the company. After spending $8500 on doors I expected more efficiency, better customer service, and the courtesy to contact us about the unauthorized substitutions! Buyers beware!!!

      We apoligize for the confusion. We did change a subset of our hardware and we did notify our customers, we apoligize if Ms. C**** didn't get the information. We don't see any communication from Ms. C****. We will certainly be reaching out to try to resolve this issue to her satisfaction.

      terrible company. really they deserve no stars. I bought 2 large Juneau double barn doors for over $3000. initially great service with design and sizing and ordering. received timely fashion. but barn doors were not built right. Can not close doors. Threre is a space that gets bigger as you go from top to bottom. I also bought the soft close door add on piece that does not fit. Additionally, the doors are very poor fabrication. Seams of pieces appear to be separating. I usually scrutinize reviews carefully and I missed the numerous horrendous reviews and the F grade on the BBB

      Shoddy work. Ordered a $5K barn door set up (my contruction guy laughed at how much they charged me) and 6 months later, I still don't have barn doors and I've spent a couple thousand dollars trying to fix the problems they sent me. Most problems paint related. First is was the doors themselves. Horrible paint job, yellow spots on white. Looked like primer only. My guy had to repaint. Then the hardware. Ordered brushed steel, and what they sent was ridiculous. Let's call it half-brushed. Couldn't fix that, so went back and requested black instead (how could they screw that up, right?). Well, they sent an incomplete set of black hardware and again, the painting was shoddy. Scratch off with your fingernail. My guy had to take them offsite and powder coat them as they should have at the factory (is it a garage?). Company refused to make me whole on the additional expenses incurred because of their shoddy work.

      Order double barn doors with inset door handles. The doors cam without the insets (so I'm supposed to carve the holes myself??) and their customer service had the nerve to tell me it's my responsibility for not requesting a "special routing" when I ordered a pretty standard accessory out of the catalogue. They would not even suggest to send another type of handle. On top of that, the quality of the painting on door and items is pretty low, I think I will have to do some touch ups to deal with it (I can't fix the fact that the windows on doors are not perfectly horizontal) Oh and yes, the delivery was extremely long, but I could have dealt with it, had the quality of the product been ok.

      We had much the same experience outlined by other posters here. We ordered a barn door on 7/1/21. Initially, the promise was it would be there in 2-3 weeks. Shortly after ordering, we got a note that delivery would be delayed until 9/27. When we finally received it we realized it was far too heavy to lift for two people. We needed three grown men to get it up the stairs (ours had mirrors on both sides so we might have guessed but it would have been nice to get a warning). WhiteShanty's website states "Built by hand in the U.S.A." That is definitely not true. All the hardware that came with the door had packaging slips that clearly stated: "Made in China". For a $2,000 customer door supposedly made in the USA I find that hard to accept. Unfortunately, the hardware is also very low quality. We had ordered the hardware in black. The hardware was silver with a black foil applied to it. The black foil comes of at the slightest touch. We used painter's tape in order to avoid damage when installing. Much of the foil came off when we removed the tape. Much of the remaining foil came off when we screwed the bolts on and now there are small flakes of the stuff coming off whenever we move the door. The soft-close mechanism we had paid extra for was made for a 0.5 in gap, yet the hardware we received had a 1 inch gap, so the soft-close mechanic could not be installed. The whole door comes without installation instructions by the way. The hardware has some instructions that are generic and not specific to the actual door delivered. Lastly, there was supposed to be a handle on each side but there was only one handle included and it came separately, with no pre-cut hole to fit it into. I found this is stated somewhere in the fine print but the CAD drawing showed it as assembled. I got in touch with their customer service to request a partial refund but they replied they "have a policy of only repair or replace". Bottom line: stay clear of this company and find a local craftsman to do the job.

      Our order was delayed significantly - about 2 months and every time I contacted them they put the blame on the supplier. There was no communication from them, I had to reach out everytime. I worked with a designer to make sure that I had all the parts needed for what I wanted to install, however the order I received was not what I thought I was getting for the hardware. The wood doors were actually very nice once I received them, but there were several issues with the hardware. The rail came in 2 pieces with a splice. This is not the best solution for such a heavy door (4'x8'). And the finish on all the visible hardware was a mess - someone did not let it dry before packaging it in plastic so it was all spotty and uneven. In addition, several pieces of hardware were missing. I ended up finding a local manufacturer to provide better hardware. When I contacted customer service they said we do not take hardware returns - period. There was no apology, or willingness to work with me. Over $1k in hardware. Clearly won't be recommending this place.
