Leased a vehicle in 2019, been making payments since then, as of November 2022, payments stopped being taken out of my account, as of today 5/16/23 still cant reach anyone and the business is closed permanently. A check was issued to peoples commerce in April 2023 in the amount of $1800, bc my vehicle was vandalized, but my lease was almost complete, the full check issued is not owed, now im out of my vehicle and money and can't reach anyoneBusiness response

Peoples Commerce investigated this complaint by communicating with the customer and Peoples Commerce Finance Department.
Investigation into the complaint revealed that the vehicle, at the time of the vandalism incident, was titled to Peoples Commerce and was being leased by *************************
In order for ************************ to take ownership of the vehicle, he must have, not only completed the payments, but also pay the residual cost for the vehicle.
A check of the Finance records, revealed that ************************ was delinquent in his payments at the time of the vandalism incident and had not paid the residual amount to obtain the Title and take ownership of the vehicle.
As such, ************************ is not entitled any reimbursement and his complaint is without merit.

We have had a lease with them for about 3 years and we're almost done with our payments until they have stopped collecting. We would like to keep our car and want to know how can we get the title . Or returns the car and receive a full refund.Business response

Peoples Commerce Complaint Escalations Specialist investigated this complaint by communicating with **************** and the Peoples Commerce Financial Department.
Peoples Commerce Complaint Escalations Specialist investigation found that **************** has been delinquent in her leased vehicle payments. **************** was contacted and informed of her the delinquency of her account and was informed that the System had stopped taking her payment.
Acknowledging the fact that there had been some issues with the discontinuation of Peoples Commerce and change over of the system, **************** was presented with a settlement offer amount to take possession of and become the title owner of the vehicle or take the option of transitioning into a Car Vision vehicle or return the vehicle and be released from the the delinquent amounts owed and be released from her lease.
After a follow-up conversation with **************** and her husband ****, they decided to return the vehicle, be released from the delinquent amounts owed and be released from their lease, and arrangements were made to pick up the vehicle which resolve the matter.

The last time they took payment was 2/10/2022 and then payments stopped and we were not notified why. This is why we may have been delinquent. Not because we were refusing to pay. We do not agree with the terms of resolution because we will not be benefiting in the long run. We were only given two options and one of them required us to get into another leased vehicle from car vision. This company is such a scam and does not help or look to benefit its customers. The lady ******************* , who handles the accounts is very unprofessional and not helpful at all. Terrible attitude and terrible communication skills.We do not think that they handled our issue professionally and properly. They just want more money or for us to get into another lease (Trap) with them.Initial Complaint

I leased a car from peopllea commerce and my credit report stated it was 100 percent paid off and account statuse closed. Now my car has been repossessed I have been calling peoples commerce for well over a year and can never get through to anyone. When you look up their website it says permanently closed. I have never received any communication from them. About my vehicle. They repossessed my vehicle with my stuff and my childrens stuff inside and I still cant get a hold of them.Business response

Peoples Commerce Complaint Escalations Specialist investigated this complaint by communicating with Mr. ************* and the Peoples Commerce Financial Department.
Peoples Commerce Complaint Escalations Specialist contacted ****************** and after informed him that a check of his account showed that the cause of his vehicle repossession was due to the fact that he had stopped making payments on the vehicle.
****************** was also informed that Peoples Commerce was in the process of being discontinued and he was given the offered of paying the residual amount for the vehicle and take ownership, or transition into a *** ******.
The customer accepted the offer and agreed to transition into a *** ****** vehicle which resolved his complaint.

I did not accept the offer for *** ****** I clearly informed them I would have to look into this because they started I stopped payments on my previous vehicle from peoples commerce which I clearly stated to them that I never stopped my payments but peoples commerce stopped taking payments out of my account for no apparent reason

Peoples Commerce has sent out two letters, to date, to all Peoples Commerce delinquent customers of which ****************** was sent Certified letters with return receipts on those two occasions. ****************** has acknowledged receiving those letters to Peoples Commerce Account Manager and has even at one point informed the Manager that he was unemployed. As a result of ********************** failure to address his account delinquency, his vehicle was repossessed. Furthermore, Per ********************** contractual lease agreement, he cannot legally possess the vehicle until he pays the residual amount on the vehicle to take ownership and obtain the Title. Furthermore, arrangements were made for ****************** to retrieve his belongings from the repossessed vehicle. As such, Peoples Commerce has addressed all of ********************** complaint.

I have never said I received any certified letters because when you receive a certified letter they have to be signed for and I never signed for anything from peoples commerce. Furthermore I never stated I was unemployed please proved me where I said I was unemployed and that I received the letters because this is false information. I never stopped making my payments it was peoples commerce who stopped taking my payments out of my clacking. So all the information that was provided by peoples commerce is false as of now.

Firstly, ****************** is incorrect when he stated that has never received any certified letter, please see attached receipt.
****************** has been in direct communication with Peoples Commerce Complaint Escalations Specialist and has advised that he is now seeking legal counsel despite the fact that he still owes a substantial delinquent amount to Peoples Commerce for unpaid lease payments. ****************** was given the opportunity to settle the account and retain possession of the vehicle, and chose not to do so. ****************** is advised that he is still responsible for the delinquent lease payment amounts and will be liable to Peoples Commerce for those amounts as he chose not to resolve this debt when presented with a very favorable debt cancellation offer.

I have been on a 3yr lease with peoples commerce/drive here since June2019. August 2022 is my lease term end and I planned on buying the car .. For the past three years they have taken my payment off my card twice a month with out an issues.. May2022 they Suddenly stopped taking payments & I can not get in contact with the company to continue. I got a car in may 2018 from this company called ***** ****, and been paying biweekly since then. The company suddenly stopped charging me and they won't answer my calls. I have found out that the leasing company Peoples Commerce has closed permanently. I am ready to settle the deal so they can give me the title of the car, but they no longer exist, so I have no idea where to go.I've been told that a company called *** ****** is from the same owner, I would try talking with them, but I'll appreciate any help I can get here.Business response

I have been paying for this vehicle over 3yrs now. My lease has been over since 11/2021. I am still paying for the vehicle. They stated that they want1910$ for the lease but my contract has a different price. I’ve been paying biweekly. The 1910$ Has been paid but the want me to keep paying til I give them 1910 in person but these weekly payments paid that.Business response

The investigation found that the customer has satisfied his lease amount and has made additional payments which satisfies the residual payoff amount.
As a result, **. **** was contacted and informed that he is being provided the Title to the vehicle and only has to pay the Title cost and taxes fees totalling $292.00. **. **** has agreed and is now pleased and satisfied that this matter is resolved.

After reviewing ************'s complaint I believe this complaint was submitted in error. He has completed the lease payments on the account, however in order to get the title there's a residual value that needs to be paid per the terms of the lease agreement. ************ was made aware of this, and said that he would take the option of returning the car & having his account closed as paid. Peoples Commerce is willing to discuss the best course of action to assist ************ of his misunderstanding of the lease terms.Initial Complaint

I called to make a payment on my vehicle. The representative refused to take my payment , told me you may as well just hold on to that have a nice day and then hung up the phone. I made 6 attempts to call back and no one picke up the phone.Business response

After reviewing ****************** complaint, People's Commerce shows that she has spoken to the accounting department. He has explained the payment amount that he has VS. what was owed on the account & advised of the lease terms. ************** hasn't made any payments on the account since 11/24/21 which was his last payment of $170. He has been late on the account several times since he got the car on 10/16/18 ************** is currently 74 days past due on his account these payments are from 10/22/21, 11/5/21, 11/19/21, payment of $170 made on 11/24/21 past due 12/3/21, 12/17/21, 12/31/21 & 1/14/22 he has been advised of his account status on numerous occasions.
