We bought our house 3 years ago and it came with a generac whole house generator that Scarborough electric installed before we moved in. We had them come out 2 years ago to service the generator. We weren't under contract so they charged the normal fee and tried to get us to buy the yearly contract. We chose not to buy the contract at that time. Fast forward to 3 months ago and I serviced it myself which is easy to do the basics, change the oil and air filters, put in new oil and spark plugs. Until 2 days ago the generator was running fine. Then we lost power and the it wasn't turning over and starting like it should. I called Scarborough to come out and have a look and he told me because we didn't have a contract with them they would not come out and service it and to look elsewhere, at which point he hung up on me. I was surprised to be treated like this from the company that installed it and serviced it a few times already but because I touched it they no longer wanted to have anything to do with us.
