PROFESSIONAL AUTO BODY DID WORK ON MY VEHICLE AND OVER CHARGED ME. CHARGED ME $13,374.45 TO DO SOMETHIMG THAT SHOULD OF ONLY COST $7,127.76 NOW THEY ARE HOLDING MY CAR HOSTAGE UNTIL I PAY THEM $6,200.00 TO GET MY CAR BACK. The Company Advertises Free Estimates. A neighbor damaged my car, the police asked me to get a estimate of the damages. I called professionals and explained my situation to the person taking calls. They scheduled me for the Estimate The morning of the Estimate I drove 20 miles to thier shop. They inform me at the shop that since I am not using insurance for the damage, they refuse to do the Estimate. This isn't the way a Good Business should operate. We never did any type of repair for this person, nor will we ever. As soon as this person entered our office it was obvious we were dealing with someone who has problems with the law. He was rude, obnoxious and loud to our girl at the front desk. He was racing up and down in our parking lot, spinning tire and damaging the parking lot.
Every posting on the BBB is not accurate, has nothing to do with the quality of repairs or services we ever provided from each person. Each review on here was because of peoples insurance company not paying their entire claim. The BBB allows anyone to trash any business regardless true or not, and without venting the review.

We never did a repair, nor would we for this person. He drove that distance because of not finding anyone in his area that would deal with his rudeness and attitude.Customer response

Cars are more complicated than ever, and because of that, we don't write estimates only damage reports, and because of this vehicles have to be disassembled to see all the damages behind all the plastic parts. We are a late-model collision repair facility, we don't do paint jobs, rust work, or get involved with litigation disputes as in the case of ************. After speaking to our out front person who took the call from ************ he never mentioned that he needed an estimate for litigation and not for a repair or he would have been told we don't get involved. We don't have the staffing to send a person to a court hearing for a day.
After visually inspecting a person's damages, we will give our opinion about the direction they should take or if we can help.
To answer your question we don't write estimates for anyone, regardless of insurance or not.Initial Complaint

Had an auto accident (was rear ended) Took my car to this body shop for repairs. Tried to have person who hit me auto insurance pay damages but body shop and their estimate was almost 7k difference. Next went through my insurance instead and they Were closer in estimate but had to pay the difference or shop would not release my car. I know business are due their payment for their services rendered but over charged my insurance and then Held my car ransom for the money despite my insurance telling me I only had to pay deductible. Would up paying deductible plus $900. Seems to be unfair business practice. Seems to me company over charges for their services and then passes cost on to customer when insurance company won’t pay for their excessive charges. Holds vehicle “hostage” until extra amount of Bill is paid by customer. I’m just asking for this to be looked into. I will never use this company again. I don’t want others to suffer same fate as me. Thank you for allowing us to respond to and hear the other side.
We here at PAB are as frustrated as **. **********. However, we understand why he feels the need to attack us. When the insurance company doesn't reimburse consumers for all their repairs, they have no choice but to attack the body shop. His response shows that he has no problem with our repairs, only about the insurance underpayment.
Attached you will find all authorization signed by **. ********** before any work was done or completed. Not only was there one authorization signed but two. He started with the at-fault parties insurance company, ***** ****. ***** ****, on their estimate, only would reimburse for knockoff parts (non-original manufacture parts). **. ********** was adamant he wanted the original parts installed on his car. ***** **** also missed other parts, labor, and materials on their estimate beside the knockoff parts.
He then turned the claim into his own company, ********. You will find attached another set of signed authorizations from **. ********** after the claim was turned into ********.
At one point, **. ********** came into the shop for us to review his damages and our damage report. There was nothing PAB did without his authorization.
Professionals Auto Body can not control consumer's insurance companies. Insurance people are underpaying claims, and it's up to consumers to be insured by a good company. Many companies we do business with would have had no problem with the PAB damage report. We can only control our repairs and what we do, not what the insurance does.
You will also find a short and long version of all the phone calls to **. ********** and both insurance companies. We did everything we could to get the insurance to reimburse ********** properly.
When Mr. ********** came to pick his car up, we suggested that he invoke his right to an appraisal, that's in his policy. This is a process consumers have to receive a fair settlement from their insurance company. **. ********** told us he wasn't interested but instead made unfounded comments that Professionals overcharge and nothing about the insurance company's underpayment. He also had the right to go back after the at-fault party being they are liable for his damages.
Professionals Auto Body is the only Ford-certified repair facility in the area. Becoming a certified repair shop involves ongoing training, updated equipment, and following manufacturer repair procedures. The reason **. ********** came to us in the first place.
We are very adamant here at Professionals that any threats as he has done in his statement or defamation will be dealt with as far as the legal system will allow. He is attacking the wrong people!
