This business installed a metal roof on my home in 2015 and was advised of issues for 3 years prior their correction of the problem. Their rebuttal was I needed new gutters which WAS NOT the problem and ended with me having to replace my entire porch.Business response

Unfortunatley the one negative thing when installing a new metal roof is that you might have to upgrade your gutter system to a 6 inch gutter as opposed to 4 or 5 inch which is what **************** has on his home. This was explained to him when many times first when he purchased the roof and on 3 or 4 times when our service manager went to his home to address his problems. We provided him many names and numbers of companies for him to choose from to replace his gutters and also the name of the company that installs all of our gutters. USA Home Improvement Solutions / *************** installs all of our metal roofing systems according to all of ***** ********** guidelines (our metal manufacturer who has been in business since 1946, and also provides metal pro training yearly to ensure all of our customers are recieving the highest quality workmanship)
With a metal roof water runs much faster than a shingle roof because it is smooth metal and not granulated asphalt.
Lastly **************** problem was not caused by improper installation of the metal roof, it was caused by changing from a shingle roof to metal roof and the faster flow of water that needs to be accomadated by changing his gutter system which was told to him on many occasions.

I had a metal roof installed in 2015 with a warranty the sales representative said that the roof would leak as it was far superior to a shingle roof so I purchased the roof. Last year (2020) we had heavy rain and a leak started from a light fixture in my kitchen. I emailed the company and they sent out a technician to look at the roof he came out the next day and said that there was an area towards the back of the roof that was never sealed with caulking. He added the sealant and was done within 20 minutes of arrival. Now we just had heavy rain on 9/1/2021 Again another leak from the light fixture so I called the company and they sent a technician out he looked over the roof again an noticed that there was a peace missing that wasnt installed over the back of the house that wasnt looked at the first time they were here to inspect the roof. He was here for quite awhile which I have on surveillance fixing the never installed peace and to call to file a claim with the office.Business response

To whom it may concern, we apologize for any leaking that had occured regarding the metal roofing instalation at ********************** home. I can assure you that there was never a "piece" missing on any of our roofing systems that were installed at the ********* home or else they would have leaked immediatly at the first sign of almost any given rain storm, not months and years down the road. As the ********* are aware we have experienced extremely abnormal weather including a tropical storm that included high winds and over 5.5 inches of rain which ultimatly caused a lot of peoples roofs to leak locally. As part of our contractual agreement with the ********* we have rectifyed the leaks caused by the said storm damage but in no way shape or form are we contractually obligated for interior repairs, related to damage from an act of god and the ********* were put on notice to file a claim with their homeowners insurance company for interior damages. Unfortunatley for the ********* it sounds as though the damage does not meet or exceed their deductable, and they are trying to make this the responsiblity of our company. Futhermore, our company is not an interior remodeling company and our installers are not trained to perform that type of work. We will perform any service related issues to the ********* roof in the furture if need be, however we will not be responsible for interior damages.
