Initial Complaint

I had my Tractor towed for needed repairs. My Driveshaft needed to be replaced and I had a coolant leak that needed to be repaired. Prior to having my vehicle towed, I was operating my truck regularly and had no active engine or overheating issues. I received an initial estimate for repairs. Throughout the course of the initial repair, I received no documentation showing diagnostics performed to determine the scope of my leak or the state of my engine. I was told initially that the Radiator was leaking badly and needed to be repaired. After replacing the radiator and road-testing twice, they informed me it was still leaking coolant and needed to perform more troubleshooting. Upon further testing, the shop manager told me the *** cooler needs to be replaced and once this is replaced this will fully rectify the problem. The shop replaced the *** cooler and road-tested it and confirmed to me by phone that the vehicle is no longer leaking and repairs are completed. The shop manager placed in writing "please view the final invoice." Upon paying for the repairs in full, I took my keys and started the vehicle. Within mins of driving my vehicle off the lot, my truck began overheating and I was advised to return back to the shop for further testing. The shop concluded my engine sustained a crack in the cylinder and needed to be repaired. My truck had no prior engine performance issues and the shop failed to properly diagnose the full scope of my coolant leak prior to receiving payment. The shop initially offered a sizeable discount for the repairs but chose to charge more when they were made aware that I obtained a second opinion. The shop would not guarantee their recommended repairs would rectify the leak. The shop manager refused to disclose their manager's name and contact info. Tech is negligent for changing cause of coolant leak twice. I want a refund for the initial coolant repairs and a commitment to honor their initial offer to perform the partial engine rebuild.Business response
