We hired Ideal Renovations with signed contracts in June 2021 for a total reno in Phila PA scheduled to be completed October 2021. He's paid for labor only and we supply materials. To date (Dec 2021) over half of the project has yet to be completed. This contractor is a farce, a procrastinator and should not be trusted to do as he was contracted. He does work in "Phases" and expects to be paid prior to each phase but does not keep his word or promises, nor his contractual obligation for the work in each "Phase". He is slow and uses excuse after excuse that delayed work week after week; he has yet to do a full days work. Multiple times we met and made him aware of our expectations. Each time he says what he will do but never does what he says but stretches it out over weeks if its done at all. He received funds from us for substantial purchases of materials, supplies and trades but would not produce receipts upon request and has not done so to this very day; including expensive iron railings and floating stairs and porch railings. We used our funds to get some of the work done since he would not make time to apply himself to our project. He agreed to compensate us or pay for the labor portion of the work we had done. He delayed framing and even electrical and plumbing remains incomplete to this date (Dec 2021). We finally obtained the rough-in Inspection 2 weeks ago and are still waiting on him to fix discrepancies found by L&I inspector. He needs to purchase insulation, install it and get an "Insulation" inspection so he can "Button-up" and finish our project. He says he knows the L&I inspectors personally but has difficulty getting work done to satisfy the discrepancies and get inspections so we can move forward. We want *********************** ** to give us our money ($14.2K) for labor fees we paid for and complete plumbing, electrical, insulating, drywall and all else to complete our contractual agreement prior to January 15th 2022 which is not an impossible deadline!
