On February 27th I emailed salesman Mike M**** to purchase a truck. I stated $800 per month for 72months with 10% down would be my number to purchase this truck. He said he got his boss to agree. I filled out a credit app and went to purchase the truck the following day and they would not honor the $800 per month, instead they took off $800 from the total. I'd like this dealership to reverse my credit app and give me a service/parts credit of $500 for the wasted time, travel, and energy to prepare my truck for this deal under false terms.

      To Whom This May Concern:

While we strive to give the best service 100% of the time, there are times misunderstandings occur. While the customer did state they wanted to be at $800/month, the salesman emailed a copy of the exact figures we showed them when they were in the dealership, and the customer did not dispute it BEFORE we ran any credit and they came in.  When the customer was in the dealership, once we realized the misunderstanding, we took another $300 off of the car for a total of $7750 off a brand new vehicle. I attached the customer worksheet we sent to the customer before any credit was run. With the final numbers we presented to the customer, we were losing thousands of dollars to come to an agreement. As you can see we dropped the payment even lower to a final number of $805 to try and put a deal together. Unfortunately there is nothiing more we can do in this situation.

Bought a new Toyota from Toyota of Erie in Nov. 2022 and was short one 1 ignition key due to "shortage". I have contacted this dealership multiple times since, with no resolution and no key for ALMOST 1 YEAR, having the inconvenience of sharing 1 key. Deceptive business practices!

      To Whom This May Concern:

The one key problem was initiated by Toyota Corporate. Due to the supply chain issue from Covid, they were only able to ship one key with the vehicles produced in the past year. I checked today and we were able to order the key for the customer. The second key has been ordered and will be able to be picked up and programmed this week.

Called Toyota of Erie about getting windshield replaced because it received a chip from a passing vehicle, was told they don’t do windshield replaced and to call Safelite but to come back for the windshield recalibration. Set up an appointment with Safelite the next week and they put a new windshield in under my insurance, I payed my 500$ deductible. The following week I set up an appointment with Toyota for the recalibration as they mentioned to me. Went for the recalibration and when they finished I was told I owed $500 however I assumed under my insurance the recalibration would have been covered. Toyota of Erie assured me I had to pay the 500$ to get my truck back and that my insurance wasn’t going to cover the recalibration. I get home and I’m curious how my insurance wasn’t going to cover my windshield recalibration since it was part of the windshield replacement. I get in contact with my insurance and Safelite to figure out what is going on. Come to find out after many phone calls, Safelite does the recalibration right after they do the windshield replacement… I had no knowledge that Safelite was able to even do the recalibration, The manager I spot on the phone with at Safelite said that as soon as Toyota of Erie plugged into my truck they would of seen that it did NOT need recalibrated since Safelite had already done so. When I spoke to the service manager/General manager/sales manager/ The salesman that sold me the truck/ they all said the same thing to me. How they didn’t know Safelite was even capable of doing the recalibration and how there was no way they would be able to give my 500$ back… If Safelite had already done recalibration then when Toyota plugged into my truck they would have seen it didn’t need to be done. They stole $500 from me for doing work that they would of seen was already done.

      To Whom This May Concern:

When this customer dealt with the windshield issue, Safelite had just begun to calibrate windshields. The customer brought the vehicle in to have the windshield calibrated. When this happens, we set up the targets and calibrate the windshield. There is no way of knowing if it had already been done. This customer asked us to complete a service and we allocated time and equipment to do so. Safelite prior to this, never was capable of calibrating windshields. We informed the customer that if anyone was responsible, they should speak with Safelite.

Toyota of Erie states they “unaware that Safelite had the recalibration technology” I called 2 separate Safelite locations and 2 separate Toyota dealership locations. Each one stated that Toyota of Erie would have been able to see the truck windshield didn’t need recalibrated. Both of the Toyota locations I spoke with with also knew that Safelite did the recalibration after a new windshield install. Why would these other Toyota locations know that Safelite did the recalibration but Toyota of Erie doesn’t?? Toyota of Erie may have made time and a appointment for me, however they were the ones who told me to come back for the recalibration in which they didn’t need to do…

On 08/05/2023 I purchased used Tundra with aftermarket Vehicle Service Contract (DOWC Contract **********) for $2,850. I read over the terms and according to the contract I can cancel within the first 30 days for a full refund, which would be credited to the lien holder. On 08/25/2023 I sent a email (signed letter) to the Finance Manager, Kim M********* and also faxed a letter requesting cancellation and confirmation that this was received. On 08/29/2023 I contacted DOWC about the warranty and they advised I could submit the cancellation request online but they still need a response from the dealership and also noted they didn't receive a payment from the dealer. On 09/06/2023, I called the dealer and ask to speak to the General Manager but was transferred to James in finance. James stated that Kim was off today but he would look into it. He called back and said they would have their finance send a check to the lien holder, Wells Fargo. As of today, 09/13/2023 DOWC has not received a cancellation request from the dealership nor have Wells Fargo received a payment. Paid dealership $2850 plus 7% sales tax $199.50 on the purchase.
