      I bought a mini split to heat one room from Preece Heating in Sept 2022. I paid $5800. I was sold on a bigger unit than necessary because i was told it would effortlessly heat the area and cost about $100 a year to run because it was so efficient. It has never heated the room well and costs about $200 extra a month to use. I have made many attempts to have the unit repaired or diagnosed but have been put off month after month. Calls are not returned. Parts and install have not been checked or tested to find and correct the problem. The unit is still under warranty but that doesnt matter if we dont have a tech who is willing to find the problem. The warranty will run out at this rate and I will be left with no recourse.

      WE DID INSTALL THE  SYSTEM AS SHE DESCRIBED,   SHE  HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT  THE COST OF  OPERATION,    WE  HAVE  RETURNED 4 TIMES  TO MAKE  SURE  THE  UNIT WAS  OPERATING  PROPERLY,  THE  LAST  TIME  WE  WERE  TALKING  TO THE MANUFACTURERS ENGINEERING ON  THE  JOB SITE AS A SAFETY NET TO CHECK OUR WORK.  ABOUT A WEEK AGO  WE RETURNED TO INSTALL  A  SPECIAL SYSTEM TO SEE THE  ELECTRICAL  USAGE  OF  THE  WHOLE  HOME.       THE  SERVICE  MAN RETURNED YESTERDAY AND PERFORMED ADDITIONAL TESTS,   WE  ARE  RETURNING  ON  THURSDAY  MORNING AS  IT  WILL  BE COLDER AT 8 AM  TO CHECK  NUMBERS AGAIN (SINCE IT WAS ABOUT 50 DEGREES ON MONDAY).  ON  MONDAY WHEN  THE  SERVICE MAN ARRIVED THE INDOOR AIR TEMP.  IN  THE  ROOM   WAS  82.2  DEGREES.   ALL  THE TESTS  WERE DONE AT  82.2 TO  81.5   DEGREES.  CUSTOMER WAS TELLING ME  THAT  THE UNIT  WAS  RUNNING PRIOR TO MY ARRIVAL. I CAN'T EXPLAIN  WHY  THE  UNIT  WAS  RUNNING IF  THE  TEMP.  WAS  82.2 DEGREES IN  THE  ROOM   AND  THEY CLAIM  THEY  KEEP  THE  TEMP.  AT 68.   IF THEY ARE  RUNNING  THE  SYSTEM AT THESE TEMPS  IT WOULD EXPLAIN THE  HIGH  ENERGY  BILLS.
      WE CERTAINLY CAN'T CONTROL WHAT  TEMP.  THEY  RUN  THE  SYSTEM  AT  OR IF  THEY KEEP  THE  OUTSIDE  DOOR  OPEN  FOR  THEIR DOGS.    WE  DO  HAVE APPROX.  1200  UNITS  INSTALLED  SINCE  2009   AND  WE  DON'T  GET  COMPLAINTS  ABOUT  THE  ENERGY CONSUMPTION.    WE  HAVE  ACHIEVED  THE  HIGHEST RECONITION FROM  MITSUBUSHI ELECTRIC ( WE  ARE  THE ELITE  DIAMOND  DEALER  IN ERIE  AND  ERIE  COUNTY). 
      ALL  THE TEST NUMBERS  WE  DID  WE ALSO  TOOK  PICTURES  OF  THE  TEMPS.  AS  WE  WERE DOING  THEM.  WE  ARE  RETURNING THURSDAY  AND  WILL  SUBMIT  ALL THE  PICTURES  AFTER OUR  RETURN,

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

       

      I am not satisfied with the response from the business. They are still puting me off and asking me to wait.  It has been almost 2 yrs and the issues are not resolved. I would like a replacement unit that works properly or a refund.

      Preece Heating and Cooling has offered me a full refund and has resolved my complaint.
