Around 6/1/12 I applied for subsidized housing at (Hope) Housing Authority of the City of Erie, I was on a waiting list for almost 8 yrs, I received a phone call around 8/20/2019 from HOPE advising me that an apartment located at *** ** **** ** was available. I immediately accepted as I was living in a basement for almost 8 yrs. I purchased all my furniture according to the specific size of the apartment. I signed the lease agreement on 9-11-2019 and I moved in. On Thursday 5-7-20 I received a phone call from Hope; Dusti D***** advising me that they made a mistake by placing me at the wrong apartment because I am not 62 yrs old nor am I disabled, I was told to decide by the next day Friday if I would accept the apartment at a elderly building complex. I sent a letter on 5-7-20, a 2nd letter on 8-13-20 with my complaint. On 9-1-21 I received a letter from HOPE advising me to either accept an apartment they are offering me or that I would loose subsidized housing and pay a higher rentBusiness response

Per your request, attached is a copy of the most recent letter sent to Ms. ******* ***** dated September 13, 2021 regarding her continued occupancy at *** **** **** ******.
The Housing Authority of the City of Erie has decided to allow her to stay at her current address and maintain her rental subsidy until we get further direction from the Department of Housing & Urban Development.
