New Ownership taken over 3 months ago. Families been going to Steelhead for 20+ years! 8/25 Reserved 3 rooms which were $150+ a night unlike the advertised rates. Was cooking on propane grill outside room, was asked to move further away from building which we did even though man as you enter facility had flames as high into the trees. (we were told that was owners house so I guess that was allowed)2 of the three bathrooms didn't flush, Ice machine was hit or miss. One room smelled of urine, One smelled of spray covering up something.. one refrigerator iced over freezer section, peeling paint, unclean rooms. smoke detector that was taped in wall didn't work. 8/26 returned from our day out went to cook in all 3 of the microwaves to find one had a bowl of food in it from previous renters! That did it, headed to office informed I wanted microwave sanitized and toilets to be fixed within the hour. 15min later took manager into room with food in microwave and we were accused it was our food! Showed Mgr smoke detector that was off the wall wasn't working...we were then accused of ripping it off the wall...my son did throw it outside in anger as the mgr kept getting in his face swearing uncontrollable in his face at which my daughter then stepped in between mgr and son to keep her out of his face. Mgr called Police and has us evicted. Never got a refund, nor microwave cleaned. Called 8/27 about $250 fee charged on my card with out my approval. Was told it was due to $70 smoke detector (that wasn't working anyway) carpet that we spilt alcohol on rug... as filthy as that place is not sure how she determined that was of our doing. Asked for a detailed bill to be sent, Mgr ***** (after i insisted several times for her name and finally getting it) refused to acknowledge that I was asking for this.
