My name is **** ****** and I hired Aaron G****** *nd his company to repair and replace my roof. I am not satisfied at all with his lack of concern for my questions and the photos he was sent of my “finished” roof. The photos speak for themselves, most of them he has. The day after his crew “completed” work on my house a rainstorm happened and a leak was found. I sent Aaron photos of the leak along with other questions in text, and Aaron kept claiming he’d come over, but never did. He said he removed all of the rotted wood, then when we found rotted wood he claimed he did not remove it to “save me money,” though he actually charged me more for “reseheating the dormer,". There was a full replacement of the roof next door, and their dormer was vented, so it is not clear why ours was not vented. When I sent him photos of the non-removed rotted wood he stated, “he left it to save me money.” I pressed him further to answer legitimate concerns and he responded saying he “could send his crew over to deal with it, but it would cost me more.” This is odd because he offered to send his crew without himself. Aaron also stated that he did not “vent the garage because of the slope” but in the photos you can clearly see that the garage roof was partially vented, even though there is no hole cut underneath the ridge cap. Although he has claimed intent to come over and address the photo documented issues with his workmanship he has never come over to answer for it, and no matter what he says as far as intent it has proven in his actions to be completely false, and he has hidden behind lies. We have now found another leak, and have begun to ask other contractors how they would deal with the issues in the photos. They have all stated it would take more money than some of them originally bid to fix the problems that Aaron did not address and his company additionally created.

We sent a certified letter asking what the problem was and how to remedy this. The roof is not leaking and we were not made aware of the said problem the step son is claiming to see. The home owner stated there was not a problem. **** is the one making complaints and **** is worried to upset **** as he has said he is unstable.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

My name is **** ****** and I, not my stepson, have filed this complaint against Aaron G******, and Aaron’s Roofing and Construction, LLC.
My proof of payment to his company are in photo’s M1 and M2 of the photo log.
I will address each of Aaron’s incorrect and misleading statements directly.
On approximately September 16 I received a non-notarized, postal certified letter from Aaron G****** claiming to “have no idea” about the roofing problems that I had repeatedly texted and called him about prior to receiving the letter.  His letter is listed under photo J12. This was a shock, because as you can see in photos J6A, J6B, J6C, and J6D Aaron was sent texts and photos about his unfinished and misleading work from the time of his stated “work completion” to the date of reception of his letter. This to me is a clear attempt to mislead any court and the BBB, because he is “claiming” to have intent without actually coming over and dealing with the issues, and never doing so. “Intent” doesn’t mean, “I will fix it.”
I answered his September 16th certified letter with a certified letter of my own. Photo J13.  I directly addressed his misinformation of not knowing anything about it in my response letter.  That letter to him went to the 4 of his stated work addresses and he refused to accept all but one of them. The letter was accepted at his mother’s house, which is one of his stated work addresses so we understand he has received it.  I have included a copy of the letter in it’s entirety with this response at the bottom of this email. He also charged me an additional $700.00 on top of his initial estimate for something on our roof that we might not actually have.
I have not heard from Aaron since that undated letter, and he has never been over to the house since he cashed my second check.
He needs to come over and address the issues that he was paid to fix, and didn’t, and the new leak that we have from his work. Furthermore, another thing he keeps saying is that he’s “just too mad to talk to my stepson about the roofing issues.” My stepson knows a great deal about roofing. My stepson and I are on the same page and he knows what Aaron has not done right with the house and this has been backed up by other General Contractors in the area who have marveled at the poor roofing.
Before his false registered letter arrived, Aaron was told repeatedly of a leak right after they finished work. On July 6th he was sent multiple videos and photos from my phone to his, and after three weeks of me politely asking him over text and phone messages, he said he’d come over, he didn’t. He sent his assistant who stopped the leak entrance, sealing it, but the leak has never been directly addressed.  Now we have another leak that is likely coming from the exposed OSB he left on top of our house that should have been sealed. It was never sealed by Aaron or his crew, and now water has begun coming into our house. It's believed that photo B5 which is on top of the roof is causing Photo B5A’s leak, and Aaron will not come over to address it.
Furthermore, my stepson who is very knowledgeable of roofing and construction has been willing to address the issue and Aaron has repeatedly stated that “he was just too mad to talk to **,” even though I’ve asked him to talk about it with him, and told him that ** speaks for me, and I told him that in writing and he agreed to it, but never came over. By claiming he continuously is “just too mad to talk to **” it seems as though he has some rage issues, because ** has always been more than happy to talk with Aaron about his work.
I am not afraid of my stepson nor am I ever worried about making him upset, nor have I ever been. Aaron is not properly representing himself or his company respectively and he refuses to come over and deal with the lack of proper roofing work or the leaks we have found. Even though the other leak we found was sealed, the problem of the leak was never dealt with.  We continue to find problems with his roofing work, and with winter it just keeps getting worse.
Aaron is purposefully misleading the BBB and is wrong to say my son and I are not on good terms, and I am afraid of him.  Aaron is also wrong to say that I told him “the leak was fixed.”
I have reported our issues to him repeatedly and he is not being honest about our correspondence or his responsibility to it.
Aaron has not honored his word, or his unsigned, late arriving contract and he will not come over to address these issues no matter what he misrepresents, and never has.
He has taken my money, overpromised, and completely under delivered. I would like a full refund so that I can hire an honest roofer to actually fix my house, as well as extra payments for the new damage created by his crew's work.
And my stepson has continually stated that after Aaron's crew left he could not find his climbing rope or his 4th drill, and I believe him.

Thank you for your time, all of this statement is true, and I am the one who payed Aaron G****** for his “roofing work” on my house.
      **** ******

Here was my certified response to his certified false document.
      “September 18th, 2023
      Dear Aaron,
I don’t know why you have sent me this letter that you intend to fix the problems on the roof? We have talked on cell phone texts and I’ve called you to come multiple times on your phone requesting to talk very nicely, and I’ve sent you photos on the phone where you’ve talked about coming to address it, but never came.  There are no leaks that I know of because after ** called you the one time, you sent the guy over and the guy fixed the leak. I wasn’t happy that it took you about three weeks to send the guy over, but you haven’t answered a text back, and I see you’ve unfriended me on facebook which I don’t understand.  I also don’t understand your harassment letter against **, because he didn’t call you when you said he did. I’ve put my concerns over the roof in writing, and I’ve sent you photos to your cell phone, is that not good enough for you to come over?
I just don’t understand why you have not been over in almost two months, and you keep saying you intend to, but you never come over, and I would really like these issues dealt with before the season is over.
I don’t know why you just would not come over and address the real issues pertaining to my roof that you put on, and I’m coming to find out it was not properly put on in places, and I don’t understand how ** doing an insurance check is harassment?  I have not defamed you in any way. I have not called the BBB or anything else you said.  And I don’t believe ** has done anything illegal or defamed you in any way.  As far as I can tell he’s told the truth to me the whole time.
** says it’s best that I not talk to you over email, or text, or phone anymore, but if you want to write to me and tell me what you need to fix the roof, I’m fine with that. I would really appreciate it if you would just deal with the problems instead of threatening anyone.
      Sincerely

      **** ****** ******************

After stringing my step-father and mother along for nearly two years - telling them he used an "advanced system" to tell them they had low spots (we knew that, the roof was leaking) and that he'd give us a great deal cause only he could. I was going to change the roof myself as I have done many a roof, but Aaron made up a story about my step-dad's home owners insurance going up if I fell, though it would be my insurance that covered it if I fell. (total BS and fear mongering) Aaron finally showed up on time to collect the check, and that was the only time he was on time. The very next day after they had "finished," I took these photos, we had a rainstorm and the part he "fixed," is now leaking even worse. They did not replace the roof decking/sheathing that is the consistency of tissue paper and has mold (photos below I wish I could show video) - but he did charge my parents for the "replacement" of it. He also stated that there is a "30 year guarantee" on the roof, but we have yet to see any paperwork or registration information on that as he should have done and is required too. I've done many roofs in my time and this work is sub par. As I am a carpenter, I've also come to find that some of my tools from the garage they "fixed" are missing - including a very expensive climbing rope. My favorite part of the whole experience was watching one of his employees sit in the middle of our yard on the phone the entire day while the boss was gone. I have video that I have not been able to download, but the photos were taken the day after they left.
