Contract signed on 10/29/21 to replace an old shower and replace with a new tile shower. Contract Completion date 1/31/22. Original Quote: $5,000. Contract signed for $6,000.00 due to adding a shower door and labor to install. Owner paid 92% ($5,500) by end of day 11/1/21. Contractor at the end of November 2021 left the shower at subfloor and studs. All material arrived in contractor's possession by 12/27/21. The next time contractor entered home was 2/11/22 after many no shows. Owner found and paid a new plumber due to first plumber not responding to messages from contractor. Owner agreed to extend deadline twice and was assured by contractor all work would be completed 2/17/2022 with 0 defects. Homeowner consulted with 2nd general contractor who from pictures seeing work performed 2/12/22 agreed his work would cause leaks in our shower. Contractor fixed most of the issues however after stating he would fix an issue, proceeded not to leading to the shower needing to be replaced (unknown to owner then). **** worked 2/14-15 then 3 days of no shows. Final date to complete was given of 2/25/2022. **** only showed up one additional day. Only partial tile complete. $2,000 received from police report since work was not completed. A $700 door was to be provided but was not. **** was to meet at the police station instead showed up to house unannounced. Seeking $3,500 as the shower must now be ripped out and start over due to poor workmanship done (owner paid an additional $550 to have the shower ripped out and also paid the 2nd plumber $375) by T&D Home and Furniture repair. Beside poor tile work on the partially done floor as well as holes in the shower and spots plyood was still visible so not water proof, **** also did not remove the shower liner with nails in the floor before laying the ******** system down. Per ****** text messages he was going to do that and per ******** guidelines there should not be shower liner underneath. Details are in the attachments.
