I started my application for an Advanced Practice Nursing License on 05/24/2023. Since then it has been a nightmare. It took the PA Nursing Board 6 months to just approve the first half (the registered nurse license). They just started then the second half in September. I have had to re-pay and re-send documents that they claim they never received (I have receipts documenting they were sent). Now, almost a year later they still have not approved my license because they "cant find my documents". I have had to resend 4 of my verification documents 3 times. I have called the PA board of nursing countless times. There is a 2 hour wait. When I did reach someone, she said, "no I don't have time to go look for that". The woman on the phone (heaving indian accent) didnt know anything. She asked me my name about 5 times. Then asked me my school name about 5 times- repeated it and got it wrong. I asked to speak to her superior and she hung up on me. At this point, I am out $820 and will lose the job I wanted. My boss has run out of patience, as have I. Lastly- I want to note that I applied for (and obtained) 6 other state advanced nursing licenses for my Telehealth Nurse Practitioner job throughout that time. I am completely capable and qualified to obtain licenses in a timely manner. It is a Pennsylvania Board of Nursing issue. I will be losing income and have lost a lot of time and money due to their incompetence. Its actually scary that these people are in charge of medical licenses.

I applied to the PA board of licensing for my RN/NP license 1 year ago . First I would like to say their online system is terrible. If you don't have a minor in IT good luck as the system is so complex it's near impossible to resolve even the smallest issue. I opened 6 IT tickets regarding 2 issues over the last year. The 1 st was the designation in their system that my other states license verifications were not received. This was after using the NURSYS system they requested be used. So after paying for the service, and confirming via email twice with NURSYS the date which the verifications were sent the PALS system, which is Pennsylvania application system, continued to state that these were not received. I opened numerous tickets about this and even attached the email from NURSYS showing the date it was sent. My IT ticket were then marked as closed but no one ever reached out to me or actually resolved the issue. And this took months, convenient since their policy is that all documents need to be received within 90 days of application. When I attempted to call the information line all I got was " yeah there's a huge backlog of applications." THANKS! The 2nd issue was reading the criminal history background check. The PALS system stated over and over again that my criminal history background check was not received. I attached the document myself TWICE. I also opened numerous tickets regarding this issue and explained that the NJ state police will not send any background checks to 3rd partiers for employment or licensing decision WHICH EVEN THEIR WEBSITE STATES!! Again all tickets were marked as closed even thou the issue was never resolved and no one reached out to me. So of course the 90 days has passed there's no getting my application fee back, 6 IT tickets were never resolved and I have no license. I could not say enough about this terrible experience
