I called Simple Appliance on April 5th regarding a strange noise coming from my refrigerator. My husband and I were going out of town for Easter weekend from April 6th-10th, so I wanted to have the refrigerator looked at before we left. I was afraid we would come home to a leaking refrigerator. I called "Gus" from Simple Appliance on April 5th, and he came out to our house around 4:45 on April 5th. He listened to the noise and told us that the refrigerator repair would cost over $300, and we could pay half ($150) on April 5th. I wrote "Gus" a check in this amount. When my husband and I returned from Easter vacation, I hired another appliance repair company to come out to the house just to make sure this refrigerator repair was legitimate. It was NOT! The second repairman said there was NOTHING wrong with our refrigerator. He removed our filter and shook it, and we have not heard the noise since he did that. When I contacted "Gus" to share this with him, I told him I was dissatisfied with his "diagnosis" of the problem and felt as though he ripped me off and essentially stole $150 from me. He agreed to refund me the $150. He mailed me a "check," which I cashed on April 20, 2023. However, the check was returned to me due to NOT SUFFICIENT FUNDS. He keeps texting me saying he will send me a refund, but never has as of May 8, 2023. I would like a FULL REFUND from this scammer, and I would like other future customers to know that this man and his "company" are not legitimate.
