We signed a contract with HFDH, LLC on April 14, 2021, for a home addition. Work began on July 20, 2021, and then stopped in November 2021. HFDH, LLC came on January 5, 2022, to pour the foundation in the basement but that was the last anyone was here. At that point, we had a hole in our house, our washer and dryer were in the new addition area, and we had to have a space heater directly facing the pipes in order to run the washing machine. The windows and door were already cut out and covered in plastic; so, the cold and wind were coming right through. Essentially, we were heating the outside, costing us a lot in fuel oil and putting unnecessary stress on our furnace. We eventually bought windows and a door and installed them ourselves. By January, we had paid HFDH, LLC $50,000 of the $67,000 of the total amount per the contract. We attempted communication through various means, including sending a certified letter, with no response. We filed a complaint with the Attorney General in February. Agent Brett M********** reached out to HFDH, LLC requesting a response by March 16. On March 14th employees of HFDH, LLC returned to our home and resumed work with ONE employee coming almost every day to work, until May when work became sporadic again. That was around the same time we gave HFDH, LLC the required (per contract) installment payment of $10,000. Since the end of May/beginning of June no one from HFDH, LLC has been to our home to complete work. Again, no one from the company is responding to emails, phone calls, or text messages from either myself or my husband. We have now paid the company $60,000 and still have no siding, trim work, doors, HVAC, electrical or plumbing completed, cabinetry installed, lighting, flooring, etc. I feel my husband and I are most certainly victims of home improvement fraud as HFDH, LLC has received payment from us and certainly failed to provide the services and materials promised.
