Ken E*********** stated in the Facebook Posting (attached) Runs and drives Great. Ready to run and enjoy. When loading the car on to a trailer the left front wheel brake grabbed, Ken stated it may require only a simple adjustment. Once at my home i investigated the brake grab issue, Found that there was only one working brake on the car, left rear had a blown wheel cylinder and the brake lining had debonded from the brake shoe. The Right rear was non functional due to the Left side failure. The right front brake had a clogged hose feeding the wheel cylinder. Upon repair of the leaking right front brake wheel cylinder the left brake hose plugged. Brake Hoses, wheel Cylinders and brake shoes along with the master cylinder required replacement. When removing the wheels and tires from the car I noted they were dry rotted from age, The DOT stamp denoted 1993. That makes them 30 years old. It is my belief that I was sold an unsafe car and am demanding reimbursement for that cost. There have been other issues discovered but am willing to pass on them if there is resolution of these items. (support photos attached and more available if needed, Made follow-up contact and was refused any level of consideration..

This 1972 Chevrolet was under agreement that is was sold As Is..It's a classic car that didn't not receive a full restoration..The customer came in person looked over car for several hours...We agreed on terms that car was sold as is, it was a 51 year old vehicle and in good shape for its age...I personally told customer it had a brake issue, as you could tell pulling it around garage and on trailer..we agreed on price after all was discussed, and he purchased the automobile...

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I fully understand As Is. What I do not agree with is the initial posting of " This Heavy Chevy runs and Drives Great! Ready to get in and enjoy" Pure Lie! The only mention of the Brake issue by the Seller was it needed a slight adjustment. Once again the car was UNSAFE TO DRIVE! In regards to the tires they appeared at first glance to be in good condition. After further exam when accessing the failed brake system it was discovered they were dry rotted deep in the tread path and the manufacturing date of 1993. Thirty years old and classified as UNSAFE in any terms.

The seller LIED as well on the Car having been converted to Electronic Ignition. Also lied that the car had a 3.73 ratio Traction lock differential. The Seller also Lied in his Posting that "All Lights and Gauges work as they should" The Amp gauge is inoperable plus plus over 50% of the dash bulbs do not function. Seller did disclose that the car experienced some body panel damage on the left rear quarter panel and that him being a previous Auto Body Repair Person he could not distinguish where it occured. Another Lie since there is apparent evidence of body filler present.

All I am asking for is the repair / replacement cost of the brake system and four tires. Approximately $1,300.00 and will forgive the balance of the items at this time.

It is my belief that the seller was very dishonest in his presentation of this vehicle. And Items noted as lies are as such. Going forward if not resolved I will review my options via Social Media and possibly legal terms. Overall I am satisfied with the vehicle but very dissatisfied in the actions of the Seller post sale.

      Regards,
